Passenger floor is soaked! 96 sr5

I got weathertech's for Christmas and installed them today. Come to find out my passenger floor board is soaked.
It is only wet right in the dead center, not up under the dash or where the seat is bolted to the floor. Only dead center. The sun roof isnt wet or leaking, nor is the door seals leaking or bad. I pulled the carpet up and looked under the carpet and there is no bolts/grommets that are loose. I am stumped. Anyone have any experience with this?

Sounds like a possible heater core leak. Any sweet coolant smell inside the rig?

Mine was the passenger side firewall plug. I ran a bunch of wire through it and there wasn't a good seal anymore. Clear it up and sealed everything up with Marine sealer. Nice n dry.

During my research I found some people saying it could be the windshield seal too.

Ultimately I pulled the carpet up and ran a hose over different areas and found where it was coming from.

Not at all, this runner is fairly new to me. 185k i got it just under 2,000 miles ago. It has snowed and rained alot here in the PNW the last few weeks, but no one that I remember has sat there for a long time. Coolant levels are perfect too.

As said earlier....the carpet is up....hose it down and it will show up. Lots of places it could be leaking from. I'm guessing the center is the absolute low spot so it is just collecting there.

If the drains get clogged, the water will overflow onto your headliner, run down your a-pillar, and soak your floor.
I'm willing to bet this is your issue- it happened to me, so I know it's a possibility. Open your sunroof, and make sure the drains are clear- there is one at each corner.
Do you happen to park on a down-grade regularly?

The center of the passenger floor is the lowest spot so any water may rest there. How is the AC drain? It may be clogged and leaking between the blower motor and evaporator joint.

It is the drains. I don't know yet if it is a hole in the tube. Or clogged drains. Yes I park on a down grade driveway with the car facing towards the sky.

What is the best way to unclog if that is the case.

Hm, more likely if it's facing down the grade, where the water will flow toward the front of the vehicle. But still possible. Like someone has brought up; the floor board is the lowest point, so it really doesn't point to any point of entry.
That being said- to clear the drains on mine, I opened the sunroof all the way, and scooped all the gunk out of the "gutter" to expose the glorious drains. I then proceeded to strip my whole interior, and replace my headliner to get rid of the black mold that started growing when my drains were clogged...

Ok so this little tube is soaked. I got up and cleared the two front drains. But now only time will tell.
For the life of me though I cant figure out where this little tube is connected. Any info?

Dude ! I had the same problem with a wet floor board.

That lil tube is the line to the rear windshield wiper fluid.

Mine was disconnected for the longest time. From time to time I would run my rear windshield wiper just to see if could get it to work, little did I know I was shooting windshield wiper fluid under the padding and carpet....

Anyhow, now reconnected tube, no wet carpet and my rear windshield wiper fluid sprayer works ! [emoji16]happy day, hope this helps.

Same here!
For years I couldn’t figure out where floorboard moisture was coming from.
Yesterday I pulled back carpet looking closely finding that tube disconnected.

Anyway , no more worries of leak coming from behind glovebox-firewall area potentially getting ECM wet.
