Passenger-side carpet wet

Hey everyone,
has anyone ever had the passenger side of the floor wet in their 4r? under my floormat is wet and it seems pretty substantial. it is not dripping from anywhere noticeable when it rains. it will happen if the vehicle is sitting still leading me to think it is not getting in from underneath.

i have searched this and there is a big thread on it, but i tried peeling up my weather stripping on aftermarket glass on passenger side to see if there were holes in the a pillar that werent sealed by aftermarket glass ppl. i didnt see any holes, just little notches that dont go through the pillar. i snaked the front two drains on the sunroof and they seem clear, i used about 15" weedwacker line for that...should i snake more than that? i heard of a drain plug near the front quarter and rocker, near sideskirt area but i couldnt find it and dont think it is coming in from underneath. i guess next rainstorm i will have to scope it out again with glovebox down or a pillar apart from the inside...pain in the ass and i dont want mold or rotting to start happening. thanks if you have any input. - tom

I was going to suggest the sunroof as well, but it sounds like you already eliminated that from the equation..what year is your 4R? I know my uncle had a problem in his Highlander where the water draining down from the sunroof was finding it's way into the cabin, he had been back and forth to the dealership several times before they figured it out.

thanks. yeah in another thread i referenced the two big culprits were the a-pillar if you have aftermarket windshield. i didnt see holes under the weather stripping so i eliminated that. the other was the sunroof. there are 4 sunroof drains, two easy to access that drain to the front via tubes and 2 in the back that are harder to reach. i confirmed the front ones are clear i think - and does anyone know if those front tubes drain the front? the water seems most prominent under passenger floormat but does seem to spread under the seat and towards the back.

I had this last summer the A/C drain was clogged. Not sure if that could be the culprit but its pretty easy to check. There is a little rubber drain tube that comes out in the engine bay on the passenger side. I just took a coat hanger and unclogged it

thanks, my friend at Midas supposedly cleared that when talking to him about this a few weeks ago. i wonder if they actually did, i will check this later. thanks! i havent run the ac much at all since i have had the rig and this issue, but i heard even with it not running it can back up into passenger area.

Oh me! I have this problem! Welcome to the club buddy.

I have an aftermarket windshield that looks like a drunk monkey put it in. Due to this ice accepted that my passenger floorboard wil be forever wet.

sharing the pain - thanks. im going to check the ac plug and then ill have to just assume its the aftermarket glass...makes me want to accidentally have a rock hit it (but im not like that) and then make sure the new glass is installed better.

does anyone see any major issue with having an often wet floor aside from
mold? would just be an issue or not really? i think of super old cars or jeeps with holes in the floor but wonder if thats out of time frame for me. i did just buy this thing maybe 4 months ago though.

I had a loose connection on my tubing for the rear window washer. It runs along the passenger kick panel and then along the side under the door sill trim.

The motor was running but it wasn't spraying on the back. By the time I figured out why a gallon of water was under my carpet.

Good excuse to get new carpet.

Its not coolant from the heater core is it??
