I finally found my 3rd gen!

After 4 months of searching for the right 4runner, my search has come to an end. I just purchased a 2000 Limited, 4wd, LOCKER, 102k, one owner and in sexy sunfire red pearl. It was $8500, which was the top of my budget, but it was worth it.

I lucked out big time by responding to the ad right away and not hesitating this time. I'm so pumped and the first mod I'm going to do is put my daughters car seat base in.;):

I only got to drive it home and take one picture of it before my girlfriend handed me the baby and took the keys to meet one of her friends. :crybaby:

My mods will be simple at first remove the running boards, DDM tuning lights, black emblems and t4r sticker. Eventually I want to put 881/906's, 265/75 Duratracs, paint the bumpers and cladding either black, gunmetal or red (any suggestions?), paint my wheels maybe gunmetal and other simple mods.

Well here is the one picture I have of her right now.

SaWeet man, great find. I got lucky with a low mileage one for 6k. 5 spd and locked, but I have already put some $ into it. interesting rust spots. had to replace the rear axle housing cause it sprung a leak 4 days after I bought it.

so far I have done OME, front bumper and looking to get a rear one and sliders.

have fun with yours I am loving mine. just think when your out wheeling and camping your little one will surely appriciate the fun he/she is having with dad. :lookout:

Thanks man. Yeah it was on the high end, but everything I wanted and the Bay Area is crazy to buy a 4runner in. I have really big plans (bumpers and bigger lift, but that won't be for a year or more.

I can't wait till my little girl is old enough to head out on the trails with me.

Wow, nice score. Great low mileage rig. Enjoy

Thanks, I was really happy with the mileage, seeing as my girlfriend keeps saying I have to drive this one for the next 10 years. I don't find that a problem though.

Congrats! Your rig looks great!! Gotta love SC - Pizza My Heart all the way!!

Yeah we live up the street from the Capitola Pizza My Heart. Where are you from in Nor Cal?

Congrats! She's a beaut.

Thanks!

DAMN! that is a sexy truck, must be the color, i do like your old avatar better, i was so confused when i saw this one.

Congrats man. You'll enjoy it.

Painting the cladding red will look a lot better, but will also cost more money. I'd throw some tint on it, paint the bumpers and cladding red, and get some black wheels.

Top of your budget? Come on, another 10k and you could have gotten an older one from Gumball!

:D Nice, finally you got one! You've already got enough parts in the garage that I better see some mods done soon!!

:lmao: I love that Sunfire Pearl.

+1 on painting the flares.

Finally!!!!! Seriously, no one deserves to find the perfect 4runner more than you. You've been searching forever! Post pics of the car seat mod!! LOL, congrats!

Awesome find...I guess The old saying really is right that Good things come to those who waits;;ha ha in your case waits ever patiently..

Congrats on the nice find:guitar3:, i bet it'd look super nice with some darker colored wheels dude., oh yeah

Haha, yeah the color grew on me. I never thought I would get a red car, but I saw 4runit's 4runner and was hooked on the color. Plus my girlfriend liked it as well, so some points for me.

I like my old pic better, but I have to give my new girl some love.

Yeah I'm not going to get to it for a while, but hopefully it will get done. I like the red all around and I have a sport hood as well, so it will become like one of the 02 red sport editions. Definitely will go darker tint in the future.

Yeah I'm selling my lift stuff to bNugs, but I have my sport hood to get painted in the future.

i like the specs...color is nice also low milage 4wd locker 00' is whaqt im looking for

Yeah it was exactly what I was looking for. I almost caved a week ago on a 96, but held out.

Nice Nice beautiful find I love the color. Did I miss the interior color?

You have been diligent and found exactly what you wanted. It is absolutely worth every penny. I too, was patient and jumped on the one I wanted, and gladly paid for it. So far it's been fun as we go through rebuilding, replacing or improving the 4Runner. It is practically as good as new.

We decided to go all White. It's been getting compliments whereever it's seen, it is fun watching folks stop and stare. At the Toyota Dealership where it sit most of the time, the salemans mentioned they get ask about buying it all the time. All one color white, bushwacker flares, new sport hood & OL full loop bumper what is not to like about that, right. lol

Having said that, my votes to go same color all the way around. Your gonna love it. Take a look at 4Runit rig, his should give you some idea of how it would look should you decide to go that direction.

However, whatever you decide that color is going to look awesome

Congrats you deserve it. .....Regards, 8sm

I'm gonna jump on the bandwagon here, and say go red all around! I think that would look so clean! As for the wheels, black or gun metal will look good, the only thing about that is, alot of folks do that now.....Chrome or polished aluminum is like the new rare thing??? HA HA! I do think that dark wheels on a Red rig will look sick though, like most people already said, just look at 4Runnit's rig!

Great job on the buy! Don't keep us waiting too long on the mods! lol! :hungry:

Nicely done! I really love that color combo in the Limited trim. Personally, I'd leave the flares and cladding their original color, but do everything else you listed. But that's just because I like that color combo, especially lifted with nice tires.

Get some more pictures!! :bluejump:

Congrats! and hopefully you're a 49-ers fan (color scheme)!

I am searching now as well and saw this exact car, but didn't like the color so I let it pass. Glad you got it! Bay area is tough to find a clean one for the right price. I have a purchase pending on one in San Diego: 2002 150k miles, ATrac (no locker available in 2002) 4x4 and one owner for $8k. Checking it out in person on Saturday and hopefully bringing her home!

Damn, I forgot those are the niners colors. I'm a Cowboys fan and now I will definitely get some crap for it.:flamethrwoer2:

Good luck with your potential purchase.
