So, on July 4th and being on-call, i decided to search the net...and found this: New Washington State Law Bans Words 'Penmanship,' 'Freshman,' 'Fisherman' as Sexist | Independent Journal Review

This is just freaking sad! How any half-minded liberal agree to this is beyond me! Are we a bunch of sensitive little girls with panties up our asses?! Is that what our society has become?! :wtf:

I am telling you guys...sooner rather than later, we will see classic children's books being re-written!! "She-male" of unclear gender will be the new damsel in distress up in the castle waiting for a knight of equally unclear gender to come and rescue him/her/both (circle one)! :Cry:

This is simply utterly retarded.

It's ridiculous. Someone always has to find something to ***** about. Sounds like the feminists took this one to a whole new level.

Our Junior High School mascot was the Knight. We got a new female principle with a sweet butch haircut when I was in 7th grade. The first thing she did was tell everyone how sexist "Knight" was, so she removed everything Knight oriented, changed our mascot to the "Jaguars", then went as far as changing our school colors and repainting the entire building. :toilet: this was 15 years ago too.

Yes, except when it does it will be nowhere near as nice as what Rome used to be. Though it has never even come close to how nice Rome once was lol. We just need to plate everything in gold first, then we can fall properly.

Dude what do you mean by "how nice Rome used to be" --- it was nice unless you were an average citizen or a slave or a woman or a Jew or fill-in-_____.


As for America today, 10 years ago, 20 years, 30 years ago:


The "rich" of the United States are still far richer than the richest rich people of Rome ever were. And even when Rome was at its peak the poor of Rome were far poorer than the poorest of the US.

And everyone in between, "the middle" were still no where near as well off back in Rome as they are in today's (shrinking) middle class.

The fact that you think this could even be close to the truth, even as a joke is well shocking.

Most American's don't realize how vast and great the wealth of the top 1% or even say the top 5% of America is. Those who are lucky enough to be in that group are still some of the richest people the world has ever known.

You're right. Not close to the truth. I was just generally referring to the appearance. The architecture, gold plated statues and buildings, the art, marble sidewalks, cobblestone streets, etc. beautiful city.

I think my favorite part was the bill's sponsor... She had a hyphenated last name and I'll go out on a limb and assume it's because it's a sexist practice to take your husband's name. I could be wrong but I have my suspicions.
 
All the state did was chose to enact a policy to write their laws using gender neutral words. Not really that big of a deal. It does give a certain segment of our population something to whine about while the war on Christmas is suspended for the summer I suppose.
