Peel & Cling window tint.

I might get a little hell for this, but I'm going to ask anyway. I know how to tint windows and I've done my previous vehicles, but I am looking at the Gila Peel & Cling window tint for autos now and thinking about trying it. My reasoning for this is simply because I want to be able to remove it in the winter. Tinting like I normally would and removing in the winter is out of the question.

Have any of you worked with this Gila static cling stuff and if so does it turn out ok?

I just watched the install video and that does not look easily removable and it looks just as difficult to install as regular tint...and if you were to remove it you would have to find a way to store the pieces when you took them off during the winter.

If this stuff is easily removable I would Use it on the top rocker of the windshield. If the cops pull you over you can just remove and then replace later...

I wouldn't use it. Just see what the legal limit is in your state, and go from there.

You completely missed my point. I don't want to have to use adhesive tint.

DO NOT USE IT, we sell it, a friend/coworker, used it, turned out ok, meaning it when on easy and came off easy, but looked like crap, just keep your money and dont waste your time, hope that helps

No, I didn't miss the point. You want to have a "temporary" or seasonal tint. Not really sure why you'd care if the car was tinted in the wintertime, but hey, different strokes for different folks. I've seen people use static cling tint, it looks like crap IMHO. You asked for an opinion. It was given. :biggrin2:

I live in a place where it gets dark a little after 3 pm and rains a lot in the winter. For that reason, I could understand wanting to remove the tint in the winter. This is the same reason I haven't decided on tinting my fronts to match my backs yet.

If it looked like normal tint then I would use it myself. I would suggest checking out photos and applications on other forums since the manufacturer's website has limited info (can't imagine why!)
