If they had any intent of continuing the business they would have kept their employees and it appears they did not. The best case is another vendor buying them but it looks like a crappy investment for anyone interested.

Sorry for you guys as this sucks!

Maybe CBI Offroad will scoop up Pelfrey next and become the big dog of the fabrication world.

At least CBI has amazing customer service along with quick shipping and killer product.

CBI good customer service??? :repuke::wtf: when’s the last time you placed an order. There’s tons of people pissed at them for the lack of communication and bogus lead times. They’ll use every excuse in the book to save face.

I should’ve just bought my bumper from Demello.

by not offering a refund.. and saying hands are tied until investors get back to them.. that is directly telling us. they have no money, no product.
no liquidity... definitely not good for everyone that has an open order.

I agree although I hope you're wrong too. No one would invest in a company with no employees, a trashed reputation and a bunch of charge backs/people who want their money back. They could just wait for it to go to bankruptcy court and buy it for pennies on the dollar

....and have no legal obligation to their pre-bankrupcy creditors or to fulfill past orders.

Everyone that got duped here should pretty much accept that they are going to kiss their money goodbye, lawyering up or not, you will likely never see a penny out of them let alone any product. I hate to say it but this is going to go down as one of the biggest consumer screw overs in this industry.

Yeah, I wonder how many people and how much money it is all in. On Tacoma world they are screaming about it, apparently a whole group buy in Hawaii got screwed and a bunch of other people. Tundra world too. Seems like 100's of people. Let alone their vendors and employees

WOW! If this was the response I got from someone I just spent over $3k with, no apology at all or anything. I get they can't say much if they have to wait for investors, but have some empathy for those who have so much money on the line and it is now 3 days after labor day...Honestly, their brand name is now to shit even if they do make a come back.

I We aren’t acting like anything we’re doing what we are LEGALLY required to do when dealing with investors

As we’ve said over and over again we will have an update to everyone the minute we have word from the investors

An apology and accepting some responsibility for everything would help too. You can't keep acting like this is normal business practice and everyone should be fine with it

By your suggestion I paid cash. And regardless it was 7 months ago. Well outside of the refund window.
So therefore I'm stuck using a lawyer

At least CBI is willing to make custom touches to your liking to their bumpers. Which I really like about them. Pelfreybilt, I asked for a simple add on and they said no.

So if Pelfreybild goes Bankrupt. Can they open up a new company with a different name and start all over again with a new owner/business name??

If only one of the 2 pelfrey's is listed as owner as indicated by another poster.

.. Then the other one can start a new company.

I wonder how long it will take for Lawndart to take off his Pelfreybilt logo's on his truck haha:cheer2:

Frankly that's shouldn't be any of your concern.

What I do choose to do with my vehicle is my business. I've been through enough in life not to immediately start shitting on friends during a hard time. I don't condone how this has been handled, but I am still proud of the gear they make, and I am rooting for them to right the ship and either refund all who want it, and get back to making great gear.

So please, at least do me that solid.

And an aside, I found CBIs customer support par at best, and their products...subpar. My rear bumper blew apart faster than the Challenger disaster.

Oh I tease, I tease.

PS - I don't think CBI intended their rear bumper to be on a trophy truck Baja 1000 contender.

Their bumper blew apart within 2 hours of some basic 2 track and washboard roads. It blew apart again on the highway in January on the way to the body shop when my fenders had to get painted. It blew apart again in May on a 2 track going to a basic camping site in eastern oregon. Walt from TAV's tacoma bumper blew apart in baja. Expedition Overland's bumpers blew apart in central america.

It's not a good design and that company has refused to improve their product because "overlanders" gobble it up.

Anyone that has been following Lawndart for a while knows he in no way is affiliated with Pelfrey. My view has been that he is passionate about the products on his vehicles and likes their products a lot. At the end of the day, we decide where to put our dollars and take the associated risk with that decision. I for one, enjoyed following his thread as it give me many an idea of how to spend my money. That is your fault though Lawndart! ;)

Again, best of luck to all!

My question is why in the sh!t have they not been removed as a vendor/sponsor from this site??

Per TW - TW, 4runners.com, and Tundras.com (tcBob's sites) are removing them as a vendor and suggesting everyone begin taking steps to get refunds.

I would have already done so, regardless of quality of product or someone's' character traits this seems to be playing out to down right theft hidden under the guise of a poorly managing business. I fully admit that's an assumption without knowing all, or even many facts - based on the character feedback in this thread I doubt it was intentional on the owners part but likely a failure to accept/recognize what was coming all the while continuing to take orders and make promises.

He became a brand ambassador (intentionally or not) which likely explains the explosion of people requesting info from him. Unfortunate as I don't think he knows much if any more then the rest of us and is in no way responsible for the practice or actions of the company.

Hope it all works out in the end and regardless serves as a learning for others similar to the trail duty fiasco.

*Full disclosure I have no skin in the game as I have no Pelfreybilt products on order nor did I ever purchase any.

I literally do not know ANY more than you guys do. I found out at the same time as you all did. I was never paid by pelfreybilt, and never made a dollar from my relationship.

I know others who use their gear have also been hit up thinking we know more than are letting on. I truly wish this wasn't happening.
