Pelfreybilt - See Update on Last Page

They shut their facebook page down. Ran like the *****es they are. Lie, steal, get called out, run away. Pathetic.

That's kind of the ultimate slap in the face to customers... Now they can't even vent their frustrations. Imagine the people that haven't had a chance to see it yet! They'll login later and see the Facebook page is gone??! Damn... That was an ugly way for it to go down. The Pelfey's handled it in the worst possible way. Took the worst possible scenario and somehow managed to **** it up even more.

Weren't some/all of their employees terminated the day of the initial announcement? If so, that secures the BS, in my mind, as if they truly had 2m in investments coming in they would hold onto those folks.

Anyhow, for those of you effected I would research the heck out of Inc's and Chapter 7 especially if you paid in cash.

Apparently there are more than 600 customers and 49 creditors listed in their bankruptcy filing.
They applied for credit counseling, the prerequisite to filing bankruptcy, on 8/27. They lied the entire time. They knew prior to the sob story Facebook post about tough times for Satin and Tyler and the bull investor story.
I can't believe the audacity and the depth of the lies.

FWIW file a complaint with the FTC and the California Attorney Generals Office

They just turned off their IG comments on their update with lots of negative comments. They blamed their customers that their investors pulled out because everyone was disputing their transactions and that’s why the investors pulled out. Not a good excuse Pelfreybilt and to blame your customers for this? Wow, just wow.

Bad way to go down. I really wanted to purchase their bumpers too!

The way I see it is there never were any investors to begin with. They used future order money to pay for the last orders because they had no idea how to run a business. This is likely one of the reasons for the excessive lead time for delivery after an order was placed. They knew what they were doing, they continued to take peoples $ knowing they would never deliver. Nothing but classless dirtbags and I hope they get what's coming to them.

Looks like Pelfreybilt were not making their own bumpers at all in the end.

And the company that was making them appeared to be cutting corners to save on production costs

Yup. A guy from Tacomaworld posted pics that he recently received a front bumper from Pelfreybilt that was not fully finished and missing gussets!

Wow, the Pelfreys aren't that honest that people say they are.

Lasernut's company did all the lasercutting for Pelfreybilt. Not the welding or design.

I'm so speechless regarding the news, how things were presented. I have no good response to any of this.

I'm deeply saddened, passionately angry, and sympathetic to the plight of everyone here, on other forums, former employees, simply EVERYONE involved.

I'm without ****ing words here.

Visa/MasterCard rules for getting your money back

I thought I should chime in here and forgive me for the newb status on post counts, and again for not reading the whole thread... I don't know if this has been stated already regarding the customers that paid via credit/debit card and have not received their products...

I am in the Merchant Account business, I am a high level risk management expert in relation to Visa/MasterCard/Amex/Discover member bank rules and regulations...

Pelfreybilt had a merchant account, and I am sure their bank has shut it down by now, even though this surely already has happened or will happen, the bank that underwrote the merchant account is responsible for all the transactions, regardless of whether or not Pelfrey declares official bankruptcy.

Part of the guarantee that consumers get from the card brands (V, MC, D & Amex) and the member banks issuing cards to their customers, i.e. your credit or debit card, is that you can "chargeback" or "dispute" the transaction if you have not received your order, and the rules change when there is an advance payment for product orders, so if your own bank says you can't dispute because of the age of the transaction, you need to say to them that it was advance payment for a product and typically you then have up to 365 days, and in some cases, 545 days from the original transaction.

Just know that not every bank support for disputing transactions is versed in the fine print and different types of disputes, so know that you paid for a product to be made, and then delivered at an advance date, and now the merchant (Pelfrey) is put of business and refusing to deliver/refund, this also is relevant for merchandise that was flawed...

They knew what they were doing all along and that post on IG earlier was a shitty/cowardly way to leave things. Hey let's blame our customers and our "investors" for our failed Ponzi scheme and then play the victim and remind everyone how we molded this market in just six short years, you people should be grateful to have had the opportunity own our products, woe is us, yada yada yada."

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they don't start up again under a new name and LLC/LLP to try and pull a fast one on everyone once again. I smell some street justice in short order after the amount of money they squandered and number and type of people they pissed off.

I wasn't just at the end. I purchased in March and they were pushing for cash then

probably why they made michael sign a NDA.

If I remember they wanted 4500 up front for a rear bumper with all the bells and whistles, and they would greatly appreciate it if I paid in cash so they could grow their business, all up front.

Don't worry cuz all the nut huggers say they are good peoples........

Yeah everyone saying they are good people. Good people don’t take orders till the last minute and lie about investors and than blame their customers it was their fault for them going under. Plus they bought a Lexus RC and a GX460 recently.
