They are to install the spindles for the swing arms. Having the holes there allowed for the socket to pass through.

Deleting the holes would have cost more money overall, since it would mean two different components. That's why they're there. Obviously, moot point now.

I spoke with Wells Fargo just now. They seemed unconcerned that it was an electronic/ACH payment. They filled a claim and an investigation will ensue.
They said one way or the other in 10 days my account will be credited.
So, for those of you that were as foolish as me please give it a shot with your bank. Hopefully, the banks will put it all together and use their resources to get the money back. Or even better take the hit instead of us.

I was trying to go that route with a chargeback also but my cc company policy is that you needed to file the dispute within 180 days, given they've had my payment since January 26th I'm well beyond that.

-$6,947.18 USD is on the line that I prepaid for 2 dual swing rears, they collected for the bumpers, coating, sales tax, and freight. I'm going to take a visit to State Board and see if anything can be done also since they collected sales tax. Currently roaming the boards, fb groups and ig for info as this is beyond frustrating.

I have been following this on all the social media I am on (fb, insta, TW, and here) for the past couple days. It is sickening, disheartening, and frankly scary...

To all of you who paid your hard earned money out to get a product and never received it: DISPUTE, DISPUTE, DISPUTE!!!! There is a ton of great info here and on another couple threads in TW about what to do and how to go about it. Do not give up fighting, and I will personally send positive words of motivation and reinforcement to you if you need it. To those of you that have no skin in the game, like me, learn from this lesson. It is hard to swallow, even from the sidelines, but support those fighting the good fight to get their hard earned $$$ back. I know what the pelfrey's did is terrible, horrible, and maybe even premeditated based on their previous history of experience with bankruptcy, but publicly bashing them might make you feel better now but it isn't doing anything but lighting more mob torches. I have changed what i can control: Consolidated slider info thread (linked in my sig), but other than that I control nothing except my own actions and words at this point. Thats why I want to support those trying to get their honest money back.

I will not forget this. If they startup elsewhere I will NOT buy from them, I will NOT support what they did to the offroad community, and I will remember their faces, because they can change their names but their faces are a bit tougher...

my ACH down payment is the one giving the most trouble in getting back (Bank of America). My down payment was placed July 2017...and the bank says that is way out of their range. After asking for a manager, he kept saying that it was too far back. He finally agreed to enter the dispute manually, and kept saying it won't accept a date that long ago. Low and behold "hey it took the date, its entered." So now it moves forward into their investigation. The manager was still skeptical that I would get the money back, but its at least going to be investigated and I get to fill out some more info about what happened.

Mine was in March so I'm not sure what the time frame has to do with it. I did stress it was a pre-order for a custom made product that was never delivered.
All that being said, I saw a post on TW from a guy who had a ACH with Wells Fargo and was told to pound sand. So maybe I'll get the same news later?

I would recommend when applying for a charge back to stress that is was a preorder and they would fulfill the order on said date ______. However they did not deliver.

I am completely bummed as i feel like i wasted so much time and money. I placed my order July 2017 and continued to wait like a fool until now.

I was really hoping they would come through and i truly enjoyed their design but this whole situation sickens me.

The one up side to this is that there are plenty of other reputable fabricators in the industry that make quality products for our trucks as well and most are cheaper and faster to deliver too. Hopefully those personally impacted by this won't allow it to sour the entire experience and decide to move on from this community because of it.

I had a very similar incident happen within the gun community a few years back and a buddy of mine and I lost $11K together under similar circumstances, it was a real shit show. At the end of the day we had to chalk it up to a learning experience and move on. That said, it did sour my personal feelings towards the industry and others in it and I have never fully recovered and no longer participate in or care to the same degree that I once did.

I had ties to them, I went to Moab with them, they were there when I spread my dog's ashes in those hills. They put me up at their place before and after my Baja trip. I can't say they WERE my friends, they still are one could say, but my god...I'm so upset for what's happened to my other friends who are screwed over by this.

I just don't know what to say. Like a lot of people I was rooting for them to right the ship, and as things went south and more info came out...I just couldn't.

I literally can't even.

It's now my job to point people to information, and resources, to be made as whole again as possible.

While I appreciate the "attaboy" this story that's playing out is not about me. I'm not looking to come out of this looking like a saint. I helped promote a product, that while good, was never delivered and in fact screwed a lot of you guys, my friends, etc out of a lot of money.

Again this is not about me. All I can do is help others start the process of making themselves feel whole again. I hate that I'm leaving this forum during this debacle. It's not how I wanted to leave. But I want to do everything I can to provide information that can help.

I spoke with my bank (Chase) since I paid ACH as well and they "temporarily" gave me back the money and it'll be final in 10 days after they investigate. The day I filed the claim the money showed up in my account. Hope this helps anyone that has Chase as their bank.

Pretty simple, I don't even think the employees at Pelfreybilt saw this coming. Nothing there tickled my bullshit radar. Either this was negligent and Pelfreybilt dug themselves into a hole, and suddenly realized they were screwed. Or they knew this was coming and it's irresponsible and possibly criminal. That's for the legal system to decide. We don't have more than internet sleuthing and trust me we all want to know what the facts are in this story.

As for the 4Runner, I was contact about someone buying it august 13th, agreed to sell it August 20th. Way before any of this became an issue. The shitty part is my memory of the 4Runner, anytime I look through old photos, will always have the stink of this debacle on it by association. My leaving will always have a stink associated with it.

As much as that sucks, it doesn't suck as much as what others are going through financially, and their mental well being. As I said this is not my story, it's the story of a lot of people trying to be made right again.

Member TLA over on tW has been posting some very, very good information regarding the matter and this is his recommendation.

Now that I am back from a brief vacation...


DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT CONTACT THE JUDGE!!!!

I can’t say that strongly enough. You are just going to piss off someone with a lot of power and if it comes across as harassing a federal judge, some very stern people with guns will come talk to you. This is just getting started and things need to be handled methodically and the more organized we are, the better. Their original filing was incomplete and they have until September 20th to provide the court various schedules detailing their financial affairs, assets and liabilities and real and personal property. Once they have done that, we will get he first detailed look at things.

The POC for all inquiries in this matter is the court appointed Trustee. There is currently a temporary trustee appointed who I will be contacting tomorrow with a few questions regarding them claiming the company’s debts as personal debts, as well as them having taken advance payments from customers within the 70-day window that allows cash advances to be deemed non-dischargeable, and taking orders and money after they had already begun the process of preparing to file, and to make him aware of who on earth we all are.

Since I’m too lazy to write my own explanation of what the trustee does I have copied and pasted from awebsite. This person is our ally, but you have to realize that they have no idea who these people are, what they have done or who we are. Hundreds of phone calls and e-mails aren’t going to help bring clarity to the matter that just landed on their desk, and will probably seem like a bunch of crazy people screaming at them.

The Trustee in Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Cases

The duties and powers of trustees in both chapters are similar in some ways, and many of the distinctions come down to the difference between each type of bankruptcy. Here are some of the primary duties and powers of a trustee in a Chapter 7 liquidation bankruptcy case:

The trustee is in charge of rounding up all of a debtor's property;
The trustee is in charge of selling the bankruptcy estate's property;
The trustee is in charge of challenging creditors' claims, where appropriate;
