Pending; P1130 then week later P0125

So last week i was hauling a trailer, moving while doing so got the pending code: P1130
(the p1130 was before the run out of fuel)

for the past few days my Ultra gauge has been throwing a "Pending p1130" code, but no drop in gas millage or rough idle. then the past 2 days it would throw pending codes about every time i drove it.
Well today it set a CEL of the code "P0125" (Insufficient coolant temperature for closed look fuel control.)

Ive done some research on the codes and people are saying bank 1 sensor 1 O2 sensor. So i need some help if i cave a federal or cali emission vehicle.

Also the sensor 1 reads correct and normal on the ultra gauge but sensor 2 is all over the place. no throttle is down to .002 or so but on the throttle is jumps up to like .845-.995. i dont think its supposed to be that high from what ive seen in the past before this problem occurred. if someone with an ultra gauge can help me out on numbers like that.

i am thinking the off temp sender is making it put more fuel in that whacks out the fuel sensors.

now today the coolant temp sensor set the CEL and i think thats the problem thats finally manifesting its self.

If you have 2 cats, it's a Cali. One car, it's a federal.

Probably is the bank 1 O2. That's the one that tells the truck to go into closed loop operation.

6" of snow is melting and i dont want to crawl under there to look.

Don't bother. It's a Cali. See the line below Engine Family in the top right? It's basically a summary description of your emissions control system. The AF means you have an air/fuel sensor, then TWC(2) means two cats (TWC = three-way converter) and then HO2S means Heated Oxygen Sensor. Also "NLEV" refers to the stricter standards adopted in California and most NE states in '99. The 49-state/Federal types say TWC, HO2S(2) and say TLEV instead of NLEV (or not say either one).

Plan on replacing your Air/Fuel Sensor (Bank 1, Sensor 1).

thats what i thought, so i have cali emissions. SUCK! so the sensor just went from $89 to $240 because i have cali emissions. DAMN.

Double check on the Denso web site to be sure I'm not giving you the wrong number, but I think the A/F sensor you need is 234-9002. You can get it for less than you're thinking. Only 104.98 on Amazon with free shipping.

yes thats what i ended up getting, that exact one from amazon just now. i did some research and saw that i have cali emissions and this was the bank 1 sensor 1 air fuel ratio sensor that i need to fix these codes p1130 and p1135. ill let you know thursday how it goes.

I just went through this and a new O2 sensor (234-9002) solved my issue so far. I installed it on Monday and still no CEL yet. I luckily found mine on Ebay for cheap and brand new, but Amazon was my next bet.

What does your ultra gauge say your coolant temp is running at when the P0125 code is active? To me that's a bad thermostat.

UPDATE. Cleared all the codes but now p1130 and 1135 are pending codes every time I start the vehicle. Also the p1130 finally did set a hard code with a CEL on and comes back on after reset. I would have to say my A/f sensor is on it's way out.

I've also thought about the t stat, that because it's so cold here in Idaho, the vehicle isn't going into closed loop fuel system within its 140 seconds of running. Thinking the t stat it acting like it's stuck open. But the vehicle warms up just as fast as it has always. I wonder that since it's a 195deg stat that since it's so cold here the engine it being cooled more than the heat the motor can produce via running. I may have to block off part of my radiator to keep air flow down. Bit to help raise engine temps. That would help gas mileage because the motor would then be fully warmed up.
I am also running the original air fuel sensor with 192,000 miles.

Trust me, it's the A/F. It's due. It will NEVER go into closed loop with a P1130 state set. What happens is the ECU compares the air/fuel reading and the temp reading and the A/f says it not warmed up and the ECT says it is--the ECU doesn't know which is right, just that one is wrong, and for some strange Asian logic sets the P0125.The FSM is very clear, if you have P0125 and another code, address the other one first. Even if you DO have a bad thermostat or ECT sensor, you ALSO have a bad A/F and need to do that first anyway. No way it is JUST the thermostat or ECT. But the odds are a new A/F will cure both; it did for me.

Ok thanks. It will be here Wednesday. Should install it then.

And you have Cali emissions?

Yeah, I had PO1130, PO0100, PO0125 and one more for a while. Finally bit the bullet and bought the 234-9002 and no CEL since. That took care of all those codes and I'm running a bit better. I'm sure it will solve your issues as well.

thanks for reassuring my logic and diagnosis, its never fun when its your own vehicle.

PROBLEM SOLVED.

No more CEL nor bog down under slight load of acceleration.

If feels a bit more pep to it as well.
Should get better gas mileage too.

It only took me like 15 min. The simple 2 nuts and clip. Everything came off super-super easy.
