ok so ive been helping a friend for the past few days looking at buying either a 3rd gen 4runner or a 1st gen tacoma, tacomas are way more spendy, so the 4runner is more what we are looking at. -for the savings in a 4runner you can buy a nice utility trailer to have the utilitarian uses of the tacoma, but its hard to make the tacoma a 4door enclosed vehicle -unless you buy a DC and then you are looking at almost double the cost of a 4runner, at least in this area...
so i have been finding that people are just down right crazy here in the PNW, im am beginning to realize just how lucky i was with my runner -clean title, average miles, thick book of records ect. for $5500. but all the ones here i have been seeing recently have been $7000+ with salvaged titles... no Fing way people. most of the people are in this category, owned less than a year and want to sell a salvaged title... that to me screams i bought it wrecked at auction and am trying to flip it fast to do it again... well yeah no thanks. i dont mind buying a salvaged title vehicle, but the owner needs to have owned it for a long time, ie like 5 years or more. i dont want someone elses problems, and im pretty sure my friend isnt into that either (i know he isnt).

http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/cto/4235329719.html -he said it was hit in the rear, but i can see front end issues and he replaced all that stuff... yeah i dont think it was hit in the rear...
this is one of the more reasonable ones;

and it was worse a few days ago.. the market was fludded with salvaged titles with $8-9k prices...
