Hey all - if this is in the wrong area, forgive me but let me know! First post...
I have a big ol' German Shepherd who spent the first year of his life riding directly behind my in my Honda Accord and so the first 4 days I had the new 4Runner, he would leap over the seat backs from the cargo area and happily post down on the backseat, with a giant smile on his face. Well, the 4th time in my 4 day old-to-me car, he got stuck in between the headrests and frantically clawed his way over the seat backs while I was driving in a congested area and couldn't pull over fast enough. The result was a fine cut in the back of one of the seats. Pictures attached.
I received a referral from Toyota for a local guy (does their after-market installs) who then referred me to another local guy from Color-Glo International after he sent this guy pictures of the damage and was told it could be fixed for about $125. However, my texts and email to the guy to follow up have not been answered.
Are any of you in Oregon (preferably Portland/Beaverton area) and could recommend a good repair shop or person who could fix the damage for about $100? I have since been to another local repair shop who quoted me $760 for the repair or "only $600" if they hand-punch the perforation themselves. :shocked:
PS - He does learn and based on my reaction to this incident and the "boundary talk" my boyfriend and I had with him after it, he has not tried to jump over again. Although, I do realize that it would probably be a good bet to get a metal cargo barrier at the same time I fix the leather.
