perform better w ac on?

hey all i have a 2003 v8sport 4x4 and when its 80degrees+ outside and when i turn the air on the engine seems to respond better ie acceleration.is it my imag. shouldnt the ac somewhat bog the engine a bit?

there's a thread on this subj not long ago here. do a search. in theory, the high temp (and a/c on) should reduce the perf of the engine.

Depending on the speed, acceleration could be better with windows up and A/C on compared to windows down and no A/C. Better aerodynamics with the windows closed.

You will have a faster idle speed with AC on which might make it feel like your performance is better if you are normally light on the gas pedal.

Absolutely not, your putting more strain on the engine why would it perform better? The engine just gets louder so you think its putting out more power.

nothing to do with regards to being louder as a matter of fact when the fan clutch engages it looses quite a bit of power and it drives me insane and thats why on a nother post i had inquired about installing an elect. fan to lessen the chance of that happening, otherwise w/ the ac on it seems to just respond better
