I'll still have to confirm that the motors in the mirror are bad before I look at a replacement.

Update on the situation...

Pulled apart the dash, and there were lots of "taps" into the factory wires.

I suspected these might be the culprit, and they were.

The truck had two relays added to allow the navigation to be operated while the truck is moving. The relay was activated by a tap on the ACC line, only the tap
was loose, which caused the relays to cycle on-and-off rapidly.

This caused the ACC fuse to blow.

I fixed the tap, and replaced the fuse. Now the radio / Nav works, and the power mirrors work too!

I also saw wiring so that the rear seat DVD can be shown on the factory NAV display and the sound comes out of the JBL system. It looks great and sounds awesome !!! (when the engine isn't running). With the engine running, there are lines on the screen and the sound picks up stray noise.

I will straighten this out... I think there are some ground loops, plus I don't trust the taps. Fixing the grounding, soldering the wires, and adding some shielding to the audio and video wires should clean it right up.

I'm working on getting the parts for the damage to the roof rack.

I'll take the truck into a shop this week to see about the shimmy.

I have an Ozone machine on order to take care of the cigarette smell.

It's looking good!

The dealer who sold me the car offered to take it back and refund my money.

I thanked him for the offer, but told him that I'd like to try to resolve the issues, and only want to return the truck if I can't find and fix the issues,
or if it's cost prohibitive.

Since I found the root cause of the Radio dying, the power mirrors dying and some of the dash illumination not working (it was all that $%#$% wire tap that caused the ACC fuse to blow), I think I'm well on my way with this one!

I'll keep everyone updated.

Congrats on the new rig, looks just like mine! Really is night and day compared to my 07 Sport V6 that I had, not that it was a bad vehicle by any means. The Limited V8 is just a much nicer ride/driving experience.

my cb makes the same sounds at times. you can hear the abs system, turn signals and a few other things like the window motors. i think if i wire my cb right to the battery it might fix my problem

Attached is a trouble shooting flow chart from Crutchfield. I plan to uses this as the basis for tracking down my problem. It's definitely a grounding problem, or an interference problem. Both of these we *should* be able to solve by first looking at correcting any problems with grounding, and if that still doesn't work by upgrading the quality and type of some of our cables and/or electrically shielding the signal cables that are causing problems.

Also note, Crutchfield sells support for $30 for up to 90 days of technical support. This support is availabe for purchase even if you didn't buy your equipment from them.

I'm definitely going to use this to try to troubleshoot the noise.

I'll post back to the forum when I get to it, and share the outcome.
