Phoenix area trail run on a Sunday?

Hey everybody...

I just moved to Scottsdale from NJ a few months ago, and haven't yet had my '97 SR5 (BFG AT's, Bilsteins) on any local or semi-local trails out here yet

I work Saturdays- I sell trucks at AutoNow AZ (liftedtrucks.com) - but I'd love to try to put together a trail run on a Sunday. This coming Sunday (Father's Day) is out for me, but I'd love to hit some trails the week after or some Sunday soon. And, I have no problem getting up way early and heading up to Prescott or Sedona, etc., for a day on the trails if someone wants to do that.

Anyone out there interested in a Sunday trail run anytime soon?

I haven't gotten that far in the planning...was hoping that some local trail vets would chime in w/ thoughts & ideas.

I have the AZ atlas I mentioned, & I have a book called 'Arizona Backroads & 4-wheel drive trails' that lists a ton within a few hours drive of Phoenix/Scottsdale.

I know there are beaucoup trails around Prescott, and some even closer around the Bartlett Lake area. If we can get at least a couple people into it, I'll be glad to do the homework & pick a trail and do the logistical planning.

My truck does not have a winch, but I have a serious overkill tow strap (nylon, rated 30,000lb I think). No lift (yet), but I have Bilsteins & BFG AT's, and my MY (97) has about 11" of ground clearance out the door from Toyota. I'm just very tepid on running trails out here solo...NO FUN in having a problem 10mi onto a trail with 105F and no way out but the feets!

Mine's all stock - well at least the suspension. I've done class 7s with it, but really only want to do no more than a class 5 road. The class 7 was pushing it, and caused some minor dings, etc. Actually felt pretty lucky (i.e. good spotters) that was all that happened.

Just checking this morning and there are many closings due to fire danger - more than I've ever seen.
