Photo request: 3rd gen Limited without running boards

As the title says...show me your 3rd gen limited without running boards.

So far, they've done nothing for me except get in the way when I want to get in or out of the truck! It's probably not too complicated to take 'em off, but I'd like to see photos first, if possible.

I might go buy a 13mm socket this week and take them off just to see how they look. It's pretty easy. Like six bolts I think.

I'm debating takin mine off too.
My running boards meet the fender flare about 4-6 inches up from the bottom and I don't think I'd like that look.

it's kinda funny but i took a side pic of mine then went in Microsoft paint and sort of erased them, goofy but gave me a small idea what it's look like without them, anyway, long story short my better half is an advocate of keeping them, she says it's already a pain in the a** to get in and out of haha

Yeah, I can see their use when you're lifted...but I plan to keep my suspension stock.

Take em off! You'll be happy you did, even if you do plan on lifting in the future. You do see a little more of what's underneath your 4Runner but so what right?:happy bda

I have the same color as you and I took them off as they got in my way as well. Where it is a 99 it looks lifted without the old lady boards. However the downfall is the amount of slush that accumilates on the fender flares even with the addition of big front mud flaps. I would imagine the flares will take a beating and I plan to add 3m protective film to the flares when it warms up. Take them off it will look much better.

I took mine off yesterday. It was kind of a pain in the ass to be honest. I busted a lot of my knuckles and got a lot of crap in my eyes, not to mention it was cold outside.

It is definitely a lifted look. Like seriously it made a really big difference. I haven't decided if I'm going to leave them off or not. I'll try to get a picture or two tomorrow.

The drivers side shows the most stuff under the 4runner compared to the passanger side.

Oh my god you're not kidding, I got so much caked up and dry dirt in my face and in my nose and mouth it was not fun at all. But the look is worth the work I think. And yeah, some of the undercarriage is drivers side oriented so you'll see more stuff if you are looking at the "left" profile of the car
