Any suggestions for a good "all-in-one" lens and something for landscapes? I like the idea of a prime lens but not sure how which.. 35mm, 55mm, 85mm etc or how it would be for capturing shots of the kids.
Also, is anyone a member of a photo forum or Nikon forum?
Thanks!

I mainly want to be able to take great shots of my kids doing kid stuff, but also for landscapes and various action shots.

Nice thread! Yeah, if you plan on doing any sort of post-photo editing, shooting in RAW is a must. I also work in Lightroom 4 and love it. I shoot mainly product stuff for the photo side of our work, but enjoy shooting climbing the most (since it's what I enjoy doing the most)
Some random shots.

I'm about to pull the trigger on a Nikon D750. It will be a nice upgrade from my 10yo D40...

If the camera is APS-C, go 35mm or wider, and no slower than F2. IMO, of course. I don't know anything about Nikon cameras, but I do know that you can still get great results from old gears.l
Ok you bastards...I broke down a bought a D5600 and 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR and Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G lenses.
No idea what what any of that means...lol

I just purchased a Mavic pro drone and have some great 4k footage, but no way of editing/processing it. I am looking for advice as to what computer to buy solely for video editing. It can be a desk top too if that makes a difference. I have a work computer for all other activities, just not enough juice for editing.
Thanks for any help
Thank you for this. I've considered getting a desk top for quite some time now, just needed a good push to finally get one. A little frustrated because the drone is fairly expensive, but really only half of what I need. The drone is no good if I don't have a cpu good enough to get the high quality photos/ video off it. Either way, I'm excited to start contributing to this amazing thread.
Thanks again.
If you want an apple-based OS, but don't want to spend the cash for a brand new one:
Good point on apple based OS, the mavic takes video in .MP4 and .MOV neither format is editable on the windows video editor I downloaded. But again, my work laptop is still running windows 7....
