I have to admit to being a big 'action' fan - I'm often drawn to anything that involves movement, be it motorsport/athletics/aircraft/watersports...anything or combinations thereof.

I really like the 'Wake surfing' shots, however my eye tended to be drawn away from the subject matter by unnecessary clutter & distractions...please forgive the intrusion but I felt this best explained by way of an example, hence the cropped/cloned reproduction of your image below.

My reproduction is in a fairly low-res but by all means let me know if what I have done offends you in any way & I'll remove the image along with all backed-up copies.

Tig, I very much like the crop and adjustments you made. I thank you for taking another look into the image and bringing out a perspective I did not see.

Here's a few cool ones of my truck/the beach today. I shot pretty much everything in manual or picked one of the priority settings. I had the ISO set on auto.

I don't have the slightest clue on how to edit photos, so these are just as they were taken today. I'll eventually invest in lightroom.

I actually wanted to do an HDR when I did this photo since the sky area is a bit over exposed, but I dont know how to do that/didn't have time to figure it out at that second

I have a better version of this but it somehow got deleted off flickr. Just took this with my cell phone and did a bit of photo shopping with PDN. absolutely love it though.

He used Lightroom (you can tell through the Chrome exif addon). This shot really doesn't need HDR since there aren't any extreme highlights or shadows. Honestly I prefer the out of camera version over the edited version; the edited one looks a little too dark for me.

It would be closer to 545 after shipping. I may see if a friend in Tulsa can pick it up for me or something.

I take it you like the lens quite a bit? I've heard the sharpness on it is incredible, which is what I'd love to have.

Ok, looking for a bit of feedback on lens coverage. When I bought my camera I picked up a 24-120mm f/4 zoom as a sort of do everything lens but I've recently been bitten by the prime lens bug. I now have a 24mm f/1.4 and a 50mm f/1.4 that I love shooting with. I think I'm going to sell the 24-120 and buy a 70-200mm f/4 to round out my tele range. I feel like that will pretty much cover me for any situation. I'm shooting a full frame, so cropping on the 24 or 50 still gives me good resolution and everything I shoot is outdoors. I don't do a lot of tele, which is why I'm willing to go with a zoom for that instead of a prime. With the 24, 50, and 70-200 am I missing anything? Any holes in my logic that I'm not seeing?

That's good coverage, I'd probably still want something that went to 300 or more, just because. When I was on film my 24 was my favorite lens. How about a macro? If you use it a while and find holes you could always pick up a 28-70.

If it never comes out of your bag, then I'd say you're better off with something else. I have a lens (the 105mm f2.8 macro) that I hardly use, but when I want it, there's no substitute for it. If you find yourself saying that with the 24-120mm, maybe you would want to hold onto it.

Maybe I'll hang onto it for a while and see how much use it gets. When I'm travelling in the truck it's easy to have my camera bag with multiple lenses that I can swap out. On the weekend I only brought the 24mm and 50mm with me and didn't find I needed anything else. The 24-120mm might be handy to keep for walking around when I want a wide range without carrying multiple lenses.
