Full frame has it's place, and crop sensor bodies have theirs. When I need extra reach without sacrificing megapixels, I bring my D7100 or D300s. I would hope that the 1.5x is here to stay, as it is a very effective range and provides the extra reach NEEDED in the birding/wildlife and some sports arenas. Much cheaper for the consumer vs complex and expensive long glass.

I had to take a few photos for my Father's hotel as he is in the process of renovating the whole thing. Kind of cool to do some photos for his website when it re-launches.

Nice! Been wondering where you've been hiding out.

Haven't been shooting much lately either, but here's a few shots from a recent shoot. The client was looking for background photos for their website and wanted sort of abstract shots around their shop.

using a 10 stop ND Filter 350 secs

So I just picked up a MacBook finally to run Lightroom 5 on....loaded it up- imported a picture...stared blankly...I have NO EFFING IDEA what I'm doing here lol

I've done some color adjustments and such using Irfanview but this is a whole new ballgame...I'm lost...someone help
 
[MENTION=8883]LINY4Runner[/MENTION] whatcha need help with? adobe has lots of good videos on how to get started so does youtube. also use podcast from itunes lots of free ones. i was used to PS and Bridge layout before switching to LR and now i do most everything in LR. first part is get your stuff organized in folders otherwise you will hate life

In my opinion, less is more. Try not to go over the top with Lightroom. I think it's pretty easy to do that when you see all the different things it can do. One suggestion is to take a pic and literally go through each adjustment to see how it effects a picture and after your done, reset it back to the original and move on to the next adjustment. Choose a pic that has a lot of different colors. I also find that if I'm editing a lot of pictures, I'll step away from the computer and do something completely different for an hr or so and then come back. I find my eye gets all funky when I stare at the screen for a while and the break helps.

Also agree that there are quite a few good vids to help you online as well.

Yeah, I really love it. Just starting to get how ridiculous the resolution is. Below is a crop from the above photo. Amazing how much detail is still there.

I need help with everything...I'm lost on this thing...I'll check out these vids you speak of and continue to mess with it until I get it down...thanks!

Yeah, it's pretty easy to go way overboard with LR. If I'm just going through quickly to post some wheeling pics I use Auto Tone, Punch, lens correction, and crop if needed. Another good thing to do is play around with the basic sliders to see what they do. LR is non-destructive editing so you can always revert back to your original if you make a real mess of things.

I played around a bunch this weekend including my first "street" shots.

Same here lol you live and learn..
I work mostly on my laptop (mac) and I forget that the screen might be dimmed sometimes, so some of my photos come out super bright lol..

What I want to get into is plugins. I hear good things about plugins, but where to get them? dont want to spend too much money on therm.

Side note - what kind of tires did you go with, i saw photos but no details.

I think Adobe has a list of "approved" plugins on their site. Otherwise check around some of the photography forums and sites. I think the prices range pretty widely depending on what they do.

So I messed with one of my favorite photos with a little help from Anthony Morganti's YouTube channel and here's one I did while following his first two videos on lightroom

found an awesome tip online on how to remove planes from star trail pics. needed it for this shot, prob 10 or so planes flew by

63 photos at 30secs each. the final photo light painted the foreground with a flashlight.
