**Photography Talk**

Well for absolute basics, look for subjects with one or more of the following:

* Stark, high contrast.
* Patterns and textures.
* Simple bold framing/object of interest.

I just have a little pocket camera

Messed around with my macro lens today. I need to shoot more macro stuff as I know very little. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! (sorry if the subject matter is a bit creepy)

Haven't had time for much shooting lately but finally had a little last week. Rented a D7100 for a beach trip (Seaside/Santa Rosa Beach, FL) I took last week. Great trip, not as much photography as I originally planned (:beer:) but I did fall in love with the D7100. Mostly for the extra buttons (lack of surfing menus), but I was also impressed by the image quality.

My friend had a D610 and I was very impressed with it as well, but it's out of my league.... especially when I think about upgrading glass as well, having bought 2 new DX lenses in the past 9 months.

Visited the USS Alabama in Mobile

This little guy rode with us from Mobile to Seaside, I couldn't believe how clean this is at ~80% crop. I'm also comparing to my 12MP D5000 though.
