NateMob do what Intruder mentioned. great advice.

90% of the time I shoot in aperture priority.

No retouching since all i have is iPhoto currently and i didnt like how things looked just wildly moving the sliders around. So here is one from tonight, cropped a little to make up for less than perfect framing.

I've been looking at the suggested sites and watching some youtube vids to get more versed in the nomenclature.

Not gonna lie all the settings and parameters are a little overwhelming at first. Cant wait to really get into it though. Thanks again and here's to contributing to this thread sooner than later! There have been some incredible photos in here lately.

Cheers.

Take any opportunity you get to tinker / tweak / change settings. The more you do that, the more you'll understand how each of the settings or changes affects the image(s) you shoot!

Good luck and happy shooting!

Thank you for your service. :)

yep, that's adobe. they wont support new cameras in older versions. a (annoying) work around is use Nikon software convert RAW to tif files then import. pain but it will work
or you'll have to upgrade to LR5.
I had that issue in PS CS5 when I went to a newer camera, which forced me to get LR5 (it was only $90)

Keep your eyes open for LR5 upgrade discounts. The upgrade from LR4 to LR5 was a very good one, in terms of post-processing capabilities!

Noise reduction, tonality, workflow all much better (IMO) in LR5. I waited about 3 mos to upgrade, and wish I had upgraded sooner. My PP workflow time went from about 2 hrs (typically) to ~45min for a standard number of images (35 - 65 is my usual range for a day of shooting).

Just found this thread, thought I would post a few pics from the last week. Never really shot before, and just picked up a used T3i.

Spotted this GTS today, those mountains behind it are the only reason I shot it...cayennes are popular up here. Taken with nikon D3200 at 1/640s f/7.1
ISO400.

Went to cars and coffee this week and saw this.

Hah, didn't even think about those because I've never used them. My D800 has a CF card slot but I only use the SD slot. The price of CF cards compared to SD is way too high for my uses.

Yeah, I've got a bunch of CF cards because our work camera uses them and I can carry twice the card storage with me because the case I have holds both CF cards and SD cards. So, if I was just using SD cards, I'd only be able to have 4, but with addition CF cards, I can hold 8.
