I had all of my settings set in the camera, but in post I adjusted the WB and exposure settings. LR didn't sync correctly so the few dark frames. I am too lazy and too many other shots to go through to go back and fix it. not sure why but I have that issue a lot with LR, I almost have to click through each shot to make sure the sync function worked

Never heard of that issue before. Which version of LR are you on? PC or Mac?

Dang. That sounds super annoying. I've never done any star trail shots (yours are amazing by the way. When I do, I'll definitely be hitting you up for some tips) but have done a few time lapse shoots. Never had an issue with LR5 and my mac.

a few from this weekend, finally just far enough out of the city to pick up some MW action

some more star trails. this was a spur of the moment session, I just happened to have my camera with me and stumbled upon this cemetery. unfortunately it is near the airport so lots of plane and helicopter trails. it is 1hr10mins of trails stacked in PS using an action to copy/paste/change blend mode/flatten image...

there was a haze this night so downtown Denver isn't as lit up as normal. I will have to go back and try this shot again where downtown sticks out more...but at least the car trails turned out nicely.

side note. I hate watermarking my photos but ive had too many people stealing them lately (which is both flattering and annoying)

Slipping away from the editing areas. Suggestions on a new, reasonably priced camera body. I want a full frame, I currently shoot a bit with my T3. Looking to move up to the next step I think. Suggestions?

Yeah, it's definitely both! I would (when you're just posting to a page like this) put your watermark more within the image itself. You seem to take a lot (and a lot of good) landscape-style photos. I've noticed that quite a few of them you could simply crop out your watermark and still maintain most of the great image.

In addition to what [MENTION=56396]Hepar[/MENTION] said, what kind of subjects do you shoot the most? Landscape, sports, low light, indoors, kids, dogs, etc?

That being said, for entry level full frame I think you're looking at either a Nikon D610 or Canon 6D for DSLR, or a Sony A7 mirrorless. Pretty sure they're all close to the same price point. Since you already shoot Canon and you're probably familiar with their button and menu layout I'd probably start by looking at the 6D.

Really I shoot a lot of outdoors, and low light, action shots. Especially when I am in Alaska. I am hoping to be able to get my game up to a level one day and shoot people. I dont however like with the T3 how distorted the images can get during editing. Which I am also told, some of that goes away once you go full frame.

Hopefully I can start taking classes soon, I would like to actually get my degree in Photojournalisim. Until then, I am going to shoot whateever I can, and just try to get my game up as it goes.

Usually distortion is related to using wide angle lenses but you can usually correct a lot of it in post using lens profiles in Lightroom. What software are you using for PP?

For low light action you'll be hard pressed to beat the D750. It's the current high ISO king. The biggest thing you're going to notice though is that to take advantage of full frame you're going to need much better glass. FX lenses are a lot more expensive than the equivalent DX ones. If you don't mind changing ecosystems from Canon to Nikon there's a deal on the D750 with the 24-120 f4 lens. It's not the best lens out there, but it's a good walking around lens to sort of dip your toe in the full frame water.

Definitely the answer I was looking for. I really think most people will never really need all of the functions of a full-frame camera and are much more suited to a good DX body and invest the savings into some good glass. I mean, I'm in the profession of video and sometimes photo and I feel like most times I don't need it myself.

this last Saturday night I headed to the world famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre to shoot some stars and the moon. I had/ or at least I thought I had the whole place to myself and just happened to have my bag of wool spinning supplies with me. i figured why not do one on the stage real quick. set my camera up started spinning and half way through it someone yells "HEEEEEEYYYYYY...". i looked up mid spin and saw a guy running down from the top with a flashlight screaming at me. the dude was booking it down the stairs, and if you've ever been to red rocks you know that's now easy feet (get it?) i thought for sure i was going to be in a lot of trouble but turns out the guy was way cool and just wanted to see what i was up to. he thought it was fireworks and i was trying to burn the place down. last thing i want to be known as the guy who ruined red rocks. he then asked if i could spin again but i didn't want to push my luck in case he had a boss. we ended up chatting for half hour or so and he gave me a lot of history on the land and surrounding caves. so big thanks to G... for not being a D***

here is the only time ill get to put on a show at red rocks
