Ah. For some reason I always thought it was a fixed focal length because it looks so similar to the X100. One advantage is if you already have a Panasonic the button and menu layout will probably be similar. I totally agree with you that holding the camera is often the deciding factor. Ergonomics make such a huge difference.
Hopefully the buttons and menu layout are NOTHING like on the LX-3. One of the few negatives I have on the camera. Sounds and looks like they are quite different. Out of the three, the LX looks to have the best manual controls. I think potentially one big negative on the G7 X is the front ring dial. Every review I read and watch says that it is ridiculously loud and clunky as well as so slow when using it to manual focus.
