So after the 30K service on my 4R on Friday, I headed up to RMNP (Rocky Mountain National Park) to see what kind of crazy shot I could get at Alberta Falls (due the massive amounts of rain we've been getting). Just as I started to shoot, thunder came a knockin':

"Alberta Falls Thunderflow"


Saturday, as the crazy weather continued, I cruised around up Boulder Canyon, across the Peak-to-Peak, then up into RMNP again. The forecast snow was starting to close in on me as I shot this one last shot, using collected water to shoot a reflection of a pine tree just above West Horseshoe Park.

Anyone else having trouble uploading to Flickr using Lightroom? I'm lucky if I can upload a single picture per attempt. Speculation seems to be that since Flickr released their uploadr thing that people are uploading huge collections and it's crushing the servers.

I did have an issue re-uploading a photo to flickr after I made a change to it. The new changes won't show up on the website. Not sure how to get it to go.

I do like the new Flickr site and their implementation of auto backup from your phone/computer seems pretty good compared to other options.

I would pan to the left a bit more and zoom in. get rid of some of that foreground and catch more of the car lights curving on the ramp. looks like a great spot for some car trails

Good thought! I will try that again when I have the chance. It was kinda an awkward spot on the side of a hill right next to another highway at 1 am.... Didn't really wanna be out there too long. But I will totally take the advice and do it again cuz I really like that shot area.

The next time you're out doing some long-exposure city shots, play around with the aperture and see how it effects the pictures.

Yeah I actually did that the net shoot I did. Making the lights do then star burst effect. I just have not uploaded them. This specific picture was from a few weeks ago before I knew about it. Thanks for the suggestion!

[MENTION=120394]tS_kStin[/MENTION] for that starburst look you have to close your aperture (higher number) if you shoot around f/16 or f/18 you will get those and also helps for longer exposure. are you shooting in aperture priority mode?

I am usually in manual for most of my shots, aperture priority for when I don't have the time to play with settings as much. I have played round with f/18 and f/22 for a little bit when it comes to the star bust effect. I know how to, it is more of a I forget to close the aperture unless I am shooting rivers and water to smooth it out with an ND filter.

im too lazy to shoot in M. shoot most in av and let the camera figure out the shutter speed for me. i just watch my meter to make sure exposure is good. only time im in M is when im using ND filters

I believe Rosewood, I have a couple sets of grips for it and I just can't remember for sure.
