Last Friday, my wife & I headed up to RMNP (our playground) for another hike. She had not been to Sky Pond yet, so we left the house at 6am and headed to the park.

Park visitorship is at an all-time high (from what I am seeing); we had to, once again, park at the Bear Lake Rd Park-n-Ride and ride the shuttle up to Glacier Gorge Trailhead (ugh!).

Despite that slight setback, we had a FANTASTIC day of hiking. Normally a 9.0 mile hike round trip, but with our meanderings and more circuitous return route from Sky Pond, we ended up hiking 11.8 miles for the day!

Yeah, we do a lot of hikes on the East side, but have also done a fair bit on the West side. Timberline Lake (10.0 mile round-trip) is a nice hike, though right now, there is a landslide a ways up the trail, that is a real PITA to get around.

Normally, for East side hikes, I've been in the park WELL ahead of the world (for sunrise). Still working on convincing the wife that sunrise is awesome in RMNP.

After the last 3 hikes have required shuttle bus rides, she's starting to see my point (lol).

I have always wanted to make that trek, but your graph shows me just how out of shape I am... Looks like I will be hitting the gym tonight.

Well, my wife and I are both 53…and probably in decent shape, considering the wear & tear we've both put on our bodies over the years.

The key is to hike at YOUR pace, stop as needed to hydrate (required!!) and replenish calories. Toughest part of the Sky Pond hike is the scramble up Timberline Falls (yes, you literally are scrambling up through the middle of the runoff). Not bad, might get a little wet, but you'll dry out quick enough!

Since 01 June, I've hiked 413.8 miles. Aiming to hike 425 by the 31st, but may not hit the mark due to having my last wisdom tooth extracted on Monday.

This is one of my favorites that I took on holiday last year in Cape Town with my old 7D MkII. Incredible city and unforgettable trip. Cannot recommend South Africa enough for my fellow outdoor lovers here.

I was experimenting with light painting while camping a couple weeks ago. I think it came out alright for my first try, but I need practice for sure, both in shooting and post processing. Shot on a 5dMK2 with a 55mm 1.8 lens.

light painting is difficult. finding the right amount of light, exposure, shutter speed. its def an art.

Great taste in cars. I love the coupes, is that Boston Green?
Usually I can tell by the emblems, however, in this case I can't - S52 or S54?

Looks like it's got some hints of blue in it. I have a '97 Boston Green and it's never looked like that .... not sure what the word is... complex.

Boston Green just looks like deep green all the time. That looks like it's got something else going on.

Pretty car though whatever color it is.

I thought it was the editing/light painting. In the pictures it looks just like a color called Montego Blue that was used on the 3rd gen RX7. Who knows, cool car though no doubt.

trying a different way to dodge and burn using levels. created a levels layer and turned the lightness up. then set mask to black and brushed in the areas I wanted lighter. this allowed me to 'light' up the Venice sign along with some other areas.
