I don't have photoshop. My tire guy said he could powder coat my stock sr5 wheels black... I want to see what it would look like. Does anyone out there have the talent to photoshop a titanium 4th gen w/ gloss black stock wheels? I really wanted a flat black but i live in montana and wheels don't stay shiney for long, so no biggie.

Thanks in advance

thanks pal...dropped the car off tonight...ridin on loaner tundra wheels. Powder coat place said they could do flat black, then paint the center cap to match. I can't wait. should look awesome w/ my bfg's.

PICS!!! When they are done....

I too have the Titanium SR5, and am looking for a way to "separate" it from the others.......

I like the looks of the photoshop, let's see them when done!

I was going to just buy new wheels but had trouble finding an all black that would fit... Thought would be a lot more to powder coat. I know the manager of the tire place and it's only going to cost me 154 bucks...in and out. Including all the mounting and balancing and the loaner tundra wheels. I will definitely post pics. Can't wait!!!

well done r32 beat me to it.

im curious what this looks like, thats a great deal i would maybe consider it too. and got me wondering what that would look like on a white runner

Well i was a bit misquoted...powder coater was quoting me for steel wheels...still only 250. I will have to paint the center caps as they are plastic...might just see how they look au natural...

will post pics as soon as i get er back. 250 is still substantially less than new wheels.

how did you find a place that will powdercoat and mount the tires? the only places ive seen ill only powdercoat them and i have to figure out the rest

They couldn't find the wheels i wanted...so they offered that as an option. Les Schwab tire center is the name. I wonder what the wheels will look like w/out center caps. Would be nice to not have to paint them to match. Anyone have a pic of a wheel w/out a center cap mounted?

So what do you guys think, should I rattle can the center caps flat black, leave them the stock color w/ the flat black powder coated wheels or just leave them off? I hate to rattle can them just to have it flake off... Leaving them natural might give it some contrast.

What do you fellas think? Not sure how the wheels look w/out the plastic center caps. They apparently can't be powdercoated b/c they are plastic. Would melt in the oven i guess.

I do take it off road quite a bit and the center caps are already pretty scratched, so painting might be a constant maintenance issue...wonder what it would look like w/out them entirely? Guess I'll have to just wait and see. I don't like to wait!!!!

Do they serve a purpose??

my 100% daily beater car, no off-road

i had my trusty shop powdercoat the wheels. not sure how they did the center caps, but they were good enough to remember to put in black valve stems. i bought my '03 v8 limited 4x4 from the fs forum here and i'm super glad to have found it.

it looks very glossy all over in person. i painted the roof rack, middle section of front bumper and rear middle body color. tinted 35% all over except the front windows are at 20% to better match it as one uniform black gradient.

i don't like matte black as it looks like the wheels are dirty with brake dust.

sorry for the poor pics just too lazy to take some real camera pics

i'm really enjoying the stealthy, aggressive look. i see so many 4runners good to stand out a lil bit.

My car is generally pretty dirty, plus i think the flat black w/ the titanium color of the car will look really good...hope so anyway.

Well, Still waiting on my wheels...was hoping for Friday, but now it's looking like Tuesday. On a good note, I took home my center caps and painted them this weekend. Used a flat black rustoleum primer after sanding down the plastic, flat black rusltoleum paint and two coats of a matte primer. They look FANTASTIC...Now for the wheels. Will post pics as soon as it's in my driveway. I have family coming on Wed. and need my rig back. Planning a trip up to the top of the highest peak in Helena and I need my BFGs to make it!! Two of my brothers have never seen mountains. Tire place will either have my wheels ready or they'll give me some ridiculous chrome wheels until mine are ready...their choice.

Just an update

I wonder what the chrome grill surround would like like flat black...can anyone photoshop that? just the chrome surround? Not a chrome fan.

Thanks

anyone? What do you think a flat black grill surround would look like w/ my new flat black wheels, which have yet to arrive... Kind of hard to "try" it w/out ruining the chrome. Need someone w/ photoshop.

It's titanium 2006 by the way...

Finished product...now i'm debating whether to black out the grill...maybe someone w/ phot shop can help me see what a flat black grill would look like
