PIAA and HELLA

getting ready to put on some accessory lights on the Beast as well as mounting the Yakima Rack. I think the front bumper makes more sense for my purpose. However I know that Hella is popular and PIAA is as well. PIAA is more expensive. Wanting to get your thoughts on either or both and ease of installation to interior switch. Thanks!!:biggrin2:

I bought a set of hella at walmart for about $65. mounted them to a westin bullbar looks pretty good and they put out a good amount of light. will look better when it gets lifted this friday. I like the PIAAs as well but there just too much money for me.

All I have ever bought is hella and have had good luck with them. They are easy to install since they have all the needed hardware and wiring. Another advantage is the cheap price only $60-70 a pair. The only thing I dont like about Hella is that they dont offer a cheap flood set up like KC Daylighters. Also note the Hella 500 Fogs have very narrow beam and are only good for lighting up the sides of the road. I mounted them on top of my T4R and they arent worth much. The 500 series driving lights are a great buy though. As far as the switch that comes with Hella. Drilling a hole in the dash for placement is required. For a cleaner look I would purchase a Toyota fog switch that will fit in the dash after popping out the cover. I dont know anything about PIAA other than the higher price, that I couldnt justify paying. If money is no option I would go with KC Slimlighters for driving lights or Daylighters for flood lights, you pay more, but they are all metal construction, as where Hella has a plastic housing. Good luck hope my 2 cents helps.

Thanks. I found a dealer Total Truck here in Anchorage that sells PIAA for about $240. set. pricey but they insist worth it. They also have light force which are to expensive for me. I think that I am going to put them recessed right through the front bumper and add a safari bar to protect the front. The other day some roving idiot backed up into me and then started to do it again. no damage but would have been nice to have the extra security up front. Westin Bar maybe..... Thanks again.

You should also look at KC's

I have 4 on my truck and they do a great job of lighting everything up and I got all 4 for less than $300!

alaskaman, in the 4Gen section you told me about the Westin Safari Bar from that Customized Truck site. Well I went ahead and bought that, and on the receipt it had a $50 off of a $50 dollar purchase, so I think I'm gonna go ahead and get the Hella 500 Fog Light
