the amount of money that people spend on halogen bulbs , 60-80 bucks average, u can get a hid kit off ebay for about 35 to your door, just make sure its not xentec brand, i always get kit from seller auto sky, its a decent kit, hids are much brighter than the halogen.

not knocking HID set ups but unless you have projector housings dont waste your time and money, for one its illegal to run HIDs in non projector housings and two you wont be happy with the glare that HIDs give off in a standard halogen housing. that being said, PIAA is an industry leader and arguably the best light manufacturer out ther(both in HID and halogen), if they make it and put their name on it, its gonna be a good product

I have had HID's in every one of my cars, half without projectors. Ya it is technically illegal but honestly no cop is going to wright you a ticket in a new car, for all they know it could be factory. And HID's EVEN in non projector housings put off WAY better light then normal bulbs. i couldn't even see before i did HID on my 4runner, now i see everything. I would not waste my money on halogen bulbs. try ddmtuning.com I have used there kits on just about everything (multiple cars, bikes, etc.) high quality kits and there about $45.

i will, its a pet peeve of mine, and ill let you know it by a $137 citation, and i will show up to court.
(not trying to be rude or a jerk so dont take it like im personally attacking you, cause im not. i dont care who you are, you could be the sheriff him self or the chief of police, i dont care, i will wright a ticket for it if i see it -btw the higher the kelvin rating ie the more blue in the light, i can articulate it to running blue lights and thats another violation all together, so depending on how well the driver takes the initial stop, ill add that too it)

Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Also, it's laughably easy to tell when it's not factory.
First, the beam pattern on an HID is drastically different than a halogen, and even in a projector (unless you properly retrofit), you're going to illuminate things that you dont want illuminated, and annoy other drivers.
Second, brightness isn't everything. Go stand under a sodium street lamp and tell me how much color differentiation you can see. It's considerably less than a warmer halogen light source. The same is true with HID above about 4300k (and even then, it's not great. A large drawback for HID).
Third, the beam pattern you're getting out of these re-based bulbs is certainly brighter than your halogen beam pattern about 50 feet in front of your truck, everything else is washed out. If you're only looking 50 feet in front of you when driving, you have larger issues.
They universally fail DOT regulations in the US (and other organizations internationally) year in and year out for a reason.
If I were a cop, I'd ticket every jackass I could with these things not installed from the factory.
