posted last night in new user forum that I was gonna go pick up a 99 supercharged sr5, signed off the title on my powerstroke this morning before work, shed a little tear, after work and with a skip in my step went and picked up the runner, have a couple questions on the supercharger, first i know theyre rare, but how rare, second how do I know which generation model i have, and 3rd, whats the real life power/mileage difference?,


she wanted me to buy something and just have a nice clean rig, how curious shell be when random packages start showing up on the doorstep.... hehe

A 1st gen is grey, 2nd is black. That's the easy way.

I am going to have mine re-dyno'd tomorrow, so I will let you know the reallll power change. Mileage though is typically just 1 or 2 mpg less.

Does it have any fuel upgrades...? If not, get your wallet ready.

what am i looking for while looking for the fuel mods?, one quick other thing, it has the hid kit in there, when i turn on headlights bright as hell, but when i turn on high beams it goes to a sickly yellow alien blood color, not bright at all, cant see the road

its a cheap hid kit with a halogen high beam, or its not a hi/low kit and you are just seeing the running lights. Thats actually more likely. Its a hid kit that only works on the low beam. this is fine since you will never need the highs anyways.

I set up friends hid kit in his civic, and it didnt have a high beam, so the lights turn off when you hit the highs.

what am i looking for while looking for the fuel mods?

Take a picture of one of your injectors and one of the back of your intake manual. Take a picture of your ECM as well, which is behind your glove box.

The injectors may have been upgraded, like mine.

Could have a 7th injector, like most folks.

If it has either of those you will need some sort of controller, which would be wired into the ECM.
