Picked up a 90 parts runner---88 compatability???

Title say all: I got this 90 4door, 4X4, 3.0, auto with auto hubs for parts and I know the tranny will work in my 88 auto. but will the windshield??'?
I may be posting a sale ad soon, but the engine threw a rod and the trans is mine and the rear end I will only sell if picked up. But the doors minus the drivers are good, good grey door panels and headliner, tailgate good. Pic and sale post coming but my basic ? is regarding the windshield for my 88. And I may want to use the seats for my 88. Front, that is. Rears don't even look close.

2nd gen runner was a complete body redesign. i dont think much of the body pieces will swap over. the seats should but you might have to swap the seat rails, this includes the rear seats as well. the rear axle is complete different as well.

I bought a 1990 parts truck with a 3.0 and automatic for my 1988 with a 22RE and 5 speed. Here are the parts I took:

• Brakes: The front brake calipers, larger brake booster and master cylinder are probably your best parts to upgrade your '88. I used the front seats and swapped them to the rails of my '88.
• Wheels and Tires: The '90 I got had the SR5 allow rims and 31" tires which were in much better shape than the steelies with slicks on my '88. Easy swap.
• Seats: The back seat bottom in the '90 is shallower, I believe, and curves more on the sides. Also, the bottom brackets don't align with the '88 holes. I ended up keeping the back seat in my '88.
• Rear Window: The rear window mechanism is the same and I took the motor to replace mine. Be sure to take the rear window control box.
• Back Seat Heater: I also took the center console because it had the rear seat heater. That was a bit tricky to remove with the heater lines. Be ready to catch the coolant when you cut the lines.
• Spare Tire Carrier: I took this, but didn't take the time to cut out the supports that are in the fender of the '90. The carrier won't work on an '88 without the supports. I'm not sure if it would work with it and decided not to use it, anyway.
• Other: I got the rearview mirror with map lights, passenger grab handle over the door to add to the driver's side in my '88 (the threaded holes are under the headliner in the 1st Gens). The front tow hook can be used to add a second to the front of your '88. The rear cargo latches were easy to remove, so I did. The rear seatbelts should work to add 3 point belts to your '88. I haven't tried to put mine in, yet.

Most of the chassis / drivetrain parts are similar. 1984-1989 have rear leaf springs and 1990+ have coils. Bodies are very different but some parts like seats will likely swap. Lots of electrical stuff should interchange.
