I picked up my 2010 Limited, blizzard pearl with beige interior this evening. It has the navigation system, running boards, carpet mats, roof rack cross bars and the crome exhaust tip. I traded in a 2008 Silverado extended cab 4x4.
Initial observations from the drive home:
1. Coming from a full size truck, the 4Runner handles much more car-like than I'm used to. And the 4Runner actually feels small to me while I'm driving it. Overall I like the way the 4Runner behaves on the road. I think sway is pretty minimal for an SUV and acceleration is decent for such a heavy vehicle.
2. Some of the controls are a bit weird to reach, like the tuner knob on the radio for instance. Not a big deal.
3. Even with the beige seats, the interior is dark. I see myself cleaning it regularly to keep it looking good. Some of the metallic painted plastic looks a bit cheap. Hopefully it holds up well over time.
4. Overall I think the Limited is very well equipped. Sort of a middle ground between luxury car and work truck.
5. For a nearly 5,000 pound vehicle, the sheet metal seems thin to me. I was surprised how much the hood flexes when pushing on it. Maybe the frame is built to the max? After comparing the feel of the sheet metal to my wife's Venza, they appear to be similar so maybe I'm just being paranoid.
So far I'm pleased with my purchase. It's a great looking vehicle, not too big, not too small. I hope she proves to be a more reliable and better built vehicle than my Silverado. The best feature of all is the 4Runner actually fits in my garage!!
