Picked up the Taco

Finally the Tacoma was ready to be picked up... damn she is a nice truck. All the accessories we have are listed in my sig. The TRD exhaust sounds great.

Need to get some better pictures of the Tacoma & 4Runner together in a location other than our driveway!

Thanks guys

buy cars much? :) beautiful neighborhood too man

Haha I don't... but my parents do. I'm 17... the only car that I actually have in my name is a POS '92 Acura Legend coupe I bought for $500 as a project. It's pretty sick being my age and having access to these cars/trucks. Though I go to a private school where nearly everyone's dad has a Porsche and a BMW or something like that.... I'd still rather have the 4Runner than any other SUV out there. The Tacoma is definitely my favourite midsize truck as well.

Neighbourhood looks likes nice... but it really sucked growing up here. I think we're the only non-Jews in the area... which is one of the most orthodox Jewish neighbourhoods in Toronto. Don't know why my parents decided to live here hahaha. Area is too damn quiet .... at least during the summer I spend all my time out at our farm or up at our cottage.

Aftermarket leather??

I was looking at Tacos but leather wasn't offered around here??

The leather is factory, not sure if you guys can get it down in the US? The dealers said 2011 was the first year you could get the factory leather in Canada. It feels nice... like factory leather should! Will be interesting to see how it compares to the Katzkin leather we will be ordering soon for the 4Runner. It's a $2000 option up here, includes leather in the door panels, and heated seats.

I was looking at the 2010 models so that would explain it.

The Frontier had leather but the Taco didn't.

Yeah. The Frontier is a nice truck.... same with the Pathfinder (flame on!). We looked at them first... the only thing that we really didn't like was the seats, no side support whatsoever compared to the 4Runner and Tacoma. We were planning to buy them together as a pair, so we had to get both. Got a better deal at the Toyota dealership, as well as nicer trucks overall! If Nissan made the Frontier Pro-4x with a long bed and a crew cab (same as Toyota's Double Cab) then it would have been a little more tempting to go with the Nissan. We've had nothing but positive things to say about our past Nissan products.... hopefully we made the right choice going with the 'yotas!

I agree with you about the Frontier, you could get a lot more creature comforts in it vs the Taco when I was looking at it. Better stereo, moonroof, leather, etc. I had a really hard time debating between the 2, I kept thinking the Taco was a better truck(not by much) but the creature comforts kept me wanting the Frontier. So for me it was between the Frontier/Taco or a Pathfinder/4Runner. We were also replacing our car much like you were. I have a large aluminum trailer so I decided I didn't really need the pickup, the added inside room would be more beneficial so then it came down to a 4runner or pathfinder. I picked the 4th gen 4runner over the new 4runner and also the new pathfinder, just my personal preference. So we ended up with the 10 Maxima with the performance package and finding a used 08 4Runner Limited V8. Both are great vehicles and we are happy with our choices.

Yeah for sure. We traded in our 2009 F150 (and cash of course) for the 4Runner and Tacoma. Definitely missing a few things from the F150 to the Tacoma, such as moonroof, integrated trailer brake controller, lockable tailgate, better stereo, etc. But it just wasn't practical to drive the F150 in downtown Toronto.... way too wide and bad on gas. The Tacoma has a much "sportier" ride, and rides much much nicer than our last midsize truck (06 Dakota).

The new Maxima is a nice car, had one as a rental when my mom's previous G35x was in for service overnight. Nissan/Infiniti make great cars.... before the STI my dad had an 05 Altima SE-R with the 6 speed manual, he loved that car and still kick himself for getting rid of it. I think maybe once I'm off in university with the STI he might buy himself a used one.... if not then once I graduate I'll buy him one :)
