Let me start by saying this install is actually on my friend's Taco, but it's the same H11 kit as our 5th gens use, so I thought you guys might still be interested in the output and color.
This is the 4500k Morimoto elite kit from The Retrofit Source. My friend has done a lot for me over the past year, so I got him the kit as a new truck/Christmas gift. On my 5th gen I have the Xenon Depot 5000k kit, but after how impressed I was with the TRS LED fog kit, I decided to give their Morimoto kit a try this time around.
Overall the two kits are very similar. The fit and finish of the Morimoto kit is a bit superior, however my one complaint was that the kit did not come with doubled sided tape. Instead of comes with these universal brackets, which I have no idea where you'd go about mouthing them. Every HID kit I've installed has used the foam double sided tape, and I've never had one come unstuck, so we picked some up from Home Depot.
One thing I will say is the Morimoto kit is making me second guess my bulbs. I don't have a pic to compare, but for his being 4500k and mine being 5000k, the blue hue is very noticeable while his 4500k is pure white. The strange thing is, my TRS LED fogs are 5500K and they are noticeably whiter than my supposedly 5000k HID low beams. It definitely looks closer to the blueish output of 6000k. The next time our trucks are together I'll try to update this with some comparison pics.
Way more output:
Comparison vs. Stock. I didn't know this until he bought it, but the Taco TRDP comes with Rigid LED fogs that are super bright.
