I used the Pioneer AVIC headunit for starters, it is an AVIC Z1 upgraded to a Z3 with a new disc image and mapping software, also a 60gig hard drive instead of the 30 it comes stock with. Used the Pioneer GEX-P5700TV Tuner that you can get from Pioneer (its disco'd now, so eBay is your friend here) and then mounted the tuner under the passenger seat (easy access to the VIDEO IN jacks for whatever you may want to hook up) and then ran the 2 diversity antennas one to each of the back two side windows. Works great-especially when sitting in a parking lot-you get a little interference when moving, but nothing I can't live with...usually just trying to catch up on news or a game score, so....

You need to do a little work to the Z1-2-3 to get it to play video all the time, but it's well worth the time spent. :bigok:

iPod "mounted" in the useless storage tray beneath the A/C - it's discrete and hidden. Can leave in the car, stays charged...LOVE THIS FEATURE!!

Looks good man! Not to rain on your parade, but I hope that you didn't pay a lot for that TV tuner since it'll be useless after February.

Nope...free with purchase at local audio shop when I picked it up, investment was merely the price of the unit itself.....

Aside from that, the A/V Input on the unit tucked under the seat is worth it's weight...115V input, AV Input tucked under seat----read-PS3 hooked up in car real easy when you want it to!!!!

Also, have a buddy who claims he will be able to convert me to hi-def by changing something inside-of course I wont be able to see high def on the screen, but because I have the diversity antennae-they will pick up the digital signal...I don' know if it's gonna work, but you can bet your bottom dollar that I'm gonna try and I will keep all posted.

Thanks for the kudos!!:biggrin2:

Well...cost is a matter of opinion. What did I pay, or what is it all worth? I have a friend in the industry (place where I purchased, he owns) that hooked me up, but if you were to put a price on it, it probably would retail out at around $3000, before installation.

As for the install, well, I am proud to say that I did it all myself. :bigok:

Used the Scosche kit, and it looks real good, no gaps, and sits pretty flush with the rest of the dash...most people think that it is stock, if that gives you any idea of the fit and finish...
