So here she is 99 T4R SR5 Gold Pkg Leather, 4*4, 80K Miles. I LOVE THE CAR! we just got hit with a storm here in Chicago and it was awesome to get around in.

Congrats on the new ride. Black:bigok: IMO is the best color for a 4runner. The good thing about 4runners is that you can spend your money on mods, and not so much on repairs. Now I must caution you if mod it. Once you start with the mods, it might not ever end. You have been warned

Haha I've already started! My girlfriend Is pissed cause of all the time I spent looking for the car and now I can't stop looking for things to add on to it.

I paid 9k, which is prob a bit higher than the market but I was willing to pay a little extra because this car had 80k pampered miles and all the service records not to mention it was everything I was looking for minus the hood scoop which I'm currently searching for.

Nice and it looks every bit a Highlander edition except for the scoop;I'm wondering if it was swapped out for a reason by the previous owner.

I thought only the Highlanders had the monochrome paint scheme but I could be wrong.

The hood to my knowledge is original. I've been meaning to ask you about the "highlander edition" what exactly is that???

I really want to get a hood with a scoop on mine so if you know of any for sale please pass it on

Those wheels were not available on a basic SR5, nor the color keyed bumpers and grill. The previous owner either swapped it (the hood) out or it was in an accident and they didnt get the correct hood? I would get the scooped hood and some black pearl emblems

It isn't necessarily the basic SR5 it has the gold package. It better not have been in an accident!!! I had the car inspected by two mechanics a body shop and carmax. Also the carfax checked out clean.

I am planning on getting the black emblems as well as the hood scoop do you know where I can get these items.

Now you have me worried. What can I do to find out for sure what type of 4runner this is???

The only way for sure would be to obtain the window sticker. That is where it says it is a "Highlander". Either way it doesnt really matter. Looks like you have all the Highlander options, 5-Spoke Alum Wheels, Color Keyed Grill and Bumpers, Fog Lights and Flares. Do you have the sport seats and leather wrapped wheel? You have the locker right, therefore you would have the Highlander SX package. People have been known to swap out the hood with the non-scooped version, it does hinder your road vision and all :

Which 5 spokes are you talking about? I can't see the pics because my work blocks them. I have 5 spokes on my SR5 that look like the wheels in your avatar.

Yes those are the 5-spokes I am referring to. you have an 02. The 5-spokes were not available on an SR5 until 2001. The OP has an 1999.

Oh, I took any SR5 as you meaning every year. I just wanted to make sure there weren't any switching going on with my wheels LOL
