Pics of 4th Gen Without Spoilers

Seems most 4th Gens on here have spoilers. I'd be interested to see some side/rear angle shots of some without the spoiler. I have ordered mine without.

I can't say I dislike the spoiler, but a purist part of me just wonders why a truck/SUV should have a spoiler...I prefer all the Toyota SUVs without the spoiler. I realize that there is some functionality, but I think the main reasoning is aesthetic. I'm sure that's up for debate and has been debated here ad nauseam.

There is another thread going where folks have left their fuel caps on the roof. The cap wedged in the spoler and was saved.

I prefer to only have functional things on my vehicle so the spoiler makes no sense to me just like the non functional hood scoop on the sport makes no sense.

It would be a pretty boring world if everyone had the same taste however.

Not to burst everyones bubble but I think that the spoiler on the 3rd gen's is to keep back flow from coming into the cab when the rear window is down. I havn't paid much attention to what the spoiler looks like on the 4th gen but I would think that it would have a pretty similar function. Other than that I would agree that a spoiler on an SUV would be pretty dumb! But the rigs do look good without them or with them in my mind!

Re: No Spoiler on 06 Ltd.

After waiting since Dec. 20th, my new 06 Limited V-8 4x4 arrived, and I was at the lot when the carrier arrived. Here's a photo with it sitting on the car carrier, before the PDI was done.

That was pretty cool to see it arrive and know that no salesfolk or other possible buyers sat in there

Appearance w/o Rear Spoiler

Here's mine w/o the spoiler. After one month, I've had no excessive dust build-up, problems with rain obscuring the rear view, etc.

When I drove with the rear window down, I did get a get whiff of the exhaust, but that's to be expected. Back when a lot of folks drove "station wagons" since SUVs weren't invented, you knew you'd get an exhaust smell with the window down. The exhaust didn't smell like sulfur since we didn't have catalytic converters, but the exhaust smell was still there.

I'm glad I left it off.
