Sorry about the quality of the pictures. It was the only SR5 with a appearance package. It was parked on the back lot and as you can see it was getting dark and was raining.
The first thing I noticed, is that the molding is not notched, the color is a exact match. Also the front and back bumpers matched the limited. The picture of the front bumper shows a black limited right next to it, as you can see, it looks the same.
To me, this appearance package is a big deal. I have always thought the 4Runner looked good. The fourth generation with its grey plastic may look great to some, but to me, it is tacky and makes it look kind of cheap. If you like the grey cladding, great and now if you don't you have to come up with $370 for a change. To me not a bad price for a better appearance.

damnit, now the Sr5's will look like the limteds.....
... those bastards....now i feel cheated...haha... j/k....interesting looking, I do love the black, but i don't know, i had a black car and hated trying to keep it clean. I think im happy with the silver.

Anyone know about availability for the package in Canada ? I'm looking to purchase within a few months and would love to have it rather than the usual SR-5 cladding now available. (this is my first post, please be gentle). Thanks.

Hate to beat a dead horse.....but will this be available to exisiting SR5 owners? I have already called into my dealer and they dont know. Im willing to pay $1000 on the spot to have this on my White SR5.
You would think that i could just order the pieces in white from toyota right? My problem is that they dont have a white limited. So im really depending on this appearance package being offered to the white SR5.

if you already own a 4runner, doubt that u'll just be able to outright buy the appearance package. If that's what you mean.
I'd say just have a body shop paint it if you really want the cladding to be white...

Actually that doesent help since i do not want the cladding that i have now with the notches. I want the limited look.
What im concerned is if they offer this package to the white SR5. If so then i can order the pieces from toyota directly painted white. Afterall....if i had gotten the white sr5 with the appearance package and had gotten to an accident.....i should be able to order those parts.

Some dealers are trying to spray paint the sides. Here is a quote from another board talking about the cladding:
"I saw a millenium silver SR5 with dealer painted overfenders, bumpers & cladding at a Toyota dealer in Wichita, Ks. in December. It looked great & at first I thought it was a Limited. The cost was around $900. The salesman said it took a lot of prep work and they had to special order the clips to hold the fenders on as they thought they could reuse the old ones.They would not however warranty the paint. I have a 99 SR5 and held off on buying until the cladding issue is resolved and even though the appearance package is listed on the Toyota web site, the local salesman still are in the dark about when & how much. Hope this was of some help to you"

I'm told that the material used for the cladding isn't friendly to paint. Apparently, the polymer is good for protection, but paint won't stick too well.
Guess time will tell if the dealers will have the appearance package. Barring that, your local body shop should be able to get the parts -- they will need to for 4Runners that get into accidents. But the price is likely to be far higher.

I looked at the SouthEast inventory, about 300 4Runners and there are no white SR5's with the Apperance Package. And on one other Board, Edmunds, someone just did a post and said there is no white cladding. We will have to wait and see if this is indeed true, but white cladding does not look good.

Im gonna buy the limited moulding from the dealer. Have a firend who can get me a discount...better than the price that the dealer quoted me.
Gonna need 6 pieces total to buy. Gonna use my existing cladding thats on the doors. Basically im getting rid of the notches and replacing them with the smooth limited. There are 2 pieces over the rear tire that need replacing and 1 piece over the front tire. What sucks is that when i order these pieces, they come already colored from toyota. Toyota of course doesent have the fenders in white but they do i pearl white. I guess there will be a limited pearl coming soon. Once i get the pieces from the dealer i will take them to have it painted along with my truck. I will have the front bumber, door cladding, side mirrors, limited moulding, and rear bumber painted.

foglamps are still options.
Also I believe that if you get the AP package (Appearance) then it comes w/ the foglamps...
