I'm considering buying a small travel trailer, but let's see what everyone else is towing. Adding how much your tow weighs would be nice too..
I've towed my small fiberglass camper (2400lbs) with my 3.4L v6 5 speed tacoma 4x4 all over including thru the Applachian mountains & Smokey mountains with no issues. I've towed the same camper with my 3.4L v6 auto trans 4runner and it handles the camper ok but i prefer the tacoma with it's manual trans.

Off-road trailer made from 1955 Ford pickup bed. Weighs about 450 lbs empty, about 1000-1100 lbs with the RTT, camping gear and firewood. I've added a tongue box to it since these pics. Tows great, on and off the road.
