Oh crap, glad you are ok after that wreck. You are lucky to have survived that crash. Those are scary pictures. When you first posted what happened, I knew it was bad, but not this bad. Just a quick question, did you have side curtain airbags in that truck?

No he posted earlier that there were no side curtain air bags - I still wish I had them on my truck though.

Glad you are okay. The car seems to handle the impact very well. I know you don't have side curtain air bag, but wow just wondering how would the side curtain air bag be able to deploy in this accident. :arrow:

Wow, those pictures make me cringe. I'm glad you were able to walk away from it, from the pictures, you would expect the worst. Not to take away from your accident, but it makes me feel a lot better about my choice in getting the 4Runner.

It looks like you didn't have the moonroof, I wonder how well it would have held up if it did have the moonroof.

Glad you are OK.

What worries me about the pics are that the entire roof caved in. Did you land on anything other that just the road? Did the truck land upside down on the guardrail?

If someone was in the center seats they would not be here. The reason I ask is because my 2 year-olds car seat sits in the center back seat.

I guess someone can build/weld in a cross-brace at the roof line to keep it from caving in?

Could we have more details about the wreck?

to me, it looks like only the roof in the cargo area caved in. the passenger area looks like it held up fine if you look carefully. i've seen worst.

That's what I see, also. I was actually encouraged by what I saw, although I'm probably out of line concluding anything since I'm sure accident forces vary wildly by specific circumstances.

Ouch! Glad you were able to walk away from that crash. The 4R held up pretty well except for the rear (I don't have 3rd row seating anyways). BTW, my co-worker advised me that some car insurance companies have a "buy back" program which you can add to your policy for a very small charge tacked on to your premium. The "buy back" program allows you to buy back your totaled vehicle for an inexpensive amount. My co-worker said it would be no more than a few hundred dollars. Which reminds me that I need to check with my insurance co.
