Pinched hard rear brake line. Ideas?

Well I was out wheeling in Cougar Buttes today testing out my front locker. I ended up pinching the hard brake line on the rear axle. it's on the drivers side, and apparently a rock pinched it up against the bottom of the pan hard bar mount. Any ideas on the fix. I was thinking about trying to make a new brake line with some tubing. does any one know what size the ends are.

Any ideas or comment will help at this point. I'll probably be wheeling tomorrow, and I think it should be fine for a day, but I have a moab trip towards the end of June and I want this fixed by then.

I'm pretty sure its 3/16 line, re-use the stock fitting where the hard line meets the rubber, cut the line before the kink, get a union and a small piece of line, you'll need a double flaring tool for the job.

I think a new OEM hard line (Tube, Rear Brake #6) is listed for $16.09. Get a new one, soak all connectors with Kroil or PB, perform a brake flush, and enjoy the trip to Moab.

Thanks for the replies. I think im going to try and make a new one on top of the axle. if that fails ill order up the new one.. The double flaring too may be hard to find, but i have all the tubing benders available for small stuff

I miss-read, I thought you got the line where it meets the soft line coming from the frame. Same principal though, just re-use the stock fittings, this should be a pretty easy fix.

I would replace it with the braided stainless and longer brake line.

Just tp clarify I'm talking about the Hard steel brake line that goes to the drum. I'm going to go get some stainless steel tubing and try and bend a new piece. I'll just cut the old one where the flat spot it and take the stock fittings off.

I cannot believe that Toyota put these brakelines on the bottom side of the axle... Then again they didn't design the truck to wheel hard

As a short fix you can take a couple of hammers to it. Hold one on one side of the crimp and tap on the other side with the other. This should open it up some.

You should be able to rent a double flaring tool if you dont feel like buying one, they're really easy to use but do a test run on scrap piece of tubing.
