Pinion Bearing-replacable?

Okay guys, new Toy guy here, gotta question. Looks like the bearings in my front diff are trashed. The Haynes says you can replace the front pinion bearing when you replace the seal, but it looks pressed on to the pinion. Can it be done, or do you need to tear down the diff to do it? I need to get this thing back on the road...help please?

Could really use some help here. I think I'm down to replacing the front diff...I just need to know, after disconnecting the CV axles and shift motor, it looks like it's just 2 bolts holding it in...is that right? Really doesn't look like too big a job, or am I missing something?

I've never done the job before, and I have a 1st gen & 3rd gen, no 2nd gens in my driveway.

it's only been a few days....wait a bit longer and maybe someone with a 2nd gen. will know what you seek.

Removing the outer pinion bearing without removing the pinion first is near imposable. The outer bearing has a push fit not a pressed fit. The inner (large) bearing has a pressed fit, this bearing requires the aid of a arbor or hydraulic press to install or to remove.
The big issue is the lack of work space to remove the outer bearing with the pinion in place not whether it has a push or press fit.

Most all third members for Toyota trucks are like this as well as most other manufactures.
