Pinnacle SSII wax review.

So I love the AutoGeek forum and have always had a passion for detailing vehicles. Strictly as a hobby and never too involved, but I love it. I truly believe in taking care of the most expensive thing I own I know these trucks are made to get dirty and the dirtier the better, but I like mine pristine in between!

I tend to keep all of my vehicles for a very long time and every time I've sold one, the new owners said they looked brand new inside and out. Great for added resale value!! :boxer:

So, to my topic. I have been a big fan of Zaino for over 10 years. They have some great products that protect well and have decent durability. But with the purchase of my 4Runner I wanted to see what else is out there; is there a better wax? Easier to apply and remove?

That brought me to the AutoGeek forums and I decided to buy the Pinnacle Signature Series II wax and give it a shot. It is a WOWO (wipe on, wipe off) wax which I had never used before, so I was intrigued! It has also been reviewed and recommended to work very well with lighter metallic paints.

This stuff is ridiculously easy to apply. It breaks down on the first swipe across the paint and feels like it turns to butter. Spreads quickly and easily. Used my Cobra microfiber towels and immediately went to buffing that section. Holy crap...it comes off easier than it went on. I couldn't believe it..

I waxed the entire vehicle; roof, windows, head lamps/tail lamps. I didn't want to stop :bravo:

We will have to see what kind of durability I get out of it. As of now I couldn't be happier with the results. Well worth the extra money. It also applies so thin, that this jar will no doubt last me 25+ waxes as the label states, probably more.

The 4Runner is my daily driver and it sits outside 24/7. About 2 washes and no addditional spray waxes or detailer's spray. It'll soon be 3 weeks and the water still beads like the day I put it on.

Still loving it!

I'm a firm beleiver that it's more the preperation than the wax. I used to use Zaino and liquid glass for a while.

Now I use a good Meguiars 105 and 205 with my light cutting or heavy cutting pads depending on the application. For the wax I actually went to a wax called Collinite insulator wax. It's available most anywhere and cheapest at Harbor Freight: Amazon.com: Collinite® Insulator Wax (16 oz.): Sports & Outdoors
It lasts so frakin long and it's extremely durable.

I've heard a lot of praise and read great reviews over at Autogeek about Collinite's products. Most love them for winter protection because of the tremendous durability. I will definitely give their products a try in the future.

For now though the Ultima Paint Guard and SSII will have to do. They are WOWA and WOWO respectively, just too easy to apply and remove (if needed). The bad part is each of these products go so far, it is probably going to take 2 years to finish each of them.

To date the 4Runner (daily driver has Ultima Paint Guard and SSII applied) and my Cavalier (just sits in the parking lot, only SSII applied) both bead water like they did on December 15th.

I honestly didn't think I'd get three months protection out of the SSII-only on the Cavalier. Very surprised.
