Just curious how many people have pinstripes and how many don't. The day I bought my 2003 I took it home and removed the dealership sticker and the pinstripes. I personally just like the clean look.........What does everybody else think?

i made sure to tell thee salesmen we didnt want anything on our cars (bought an 06 avalon same day) so when we picked em up there was nothing. not even a plate holder. it was nice of him to listen. most dealers don't.

I have them on my truck, but only because they happened to be on the truck I wanted. I would never have them added, but I really dont mind the look.

I voted that I like them cuz I have them on my 4Runner, but since I bought it used I didn't have much choice :D Actually though I think the black stripes on my silver look very nice. That said, when I got my new Mustang I had a choice of identical cars, one with stripes (not the racing stripes up the hood but hand painted pin stripes) and one without - I got the one without.

I tend to like them. Had a Mustang once that was also silver, and the pinstripes really added to the exterior look, IMHO.

But I don't think having or not having them would be a deal breaker for us.

Gotta pass on the pinstripes, I've seen some I like but I still prefer the clean look. No dealer stickers or decals for me.

yeah pinstriping is pretty tacky.

thank goodness my t4r did not come with pinstriping and debadging it was cake.

I think on the 4Runner the pinstripe would look seriously out of place....

But I must admit there are some vehicles that can pull it off....:D

They came on the Pathfinder I previously I owned - they were nothing more than a sticker. I used a hair dryer and several hours to remove them and liked the look much better.
When I was shopping for my 4Runner I was also looking at the new Pathfinders. The fact that Nissan still had pinstripe stickers on their Pathfinders helped move me towards the 4Runner and I could not be happier with my purchase.

Mine has a factory looking pinstripe tape on it, almost blends into the paint. Has a dark blue and black stripe I think they were. Im not a pinstripe fan, but these dont look too bad. I think with the vehicle being new enough, I may go ahead and pull it off though, since I dont think there would be enough fading to worry about after only being a year old. I too will de-badge the 4Runner soon. Along with getting rid of the chrome grille and chrome strip on the rear door, and would like to get rid of the chrome door handles too, they look a bit tacky.

I like Monochrome myself, or a clean two tone. Nothing gawdy/flashy, and not alot of "eyecandy" pieces to detract from the overall look of the vehicle.

I agree with Sharp the natural kind is the best, nothing like a good day hunting or exploring and free pinstriping.

not a fan of pinstriping on a daily runner. on a hotrod maybe but not on a 4x4 which is used for everything from school runs to board meetings.

that said i'm looking for something to make my surf "POP". might just get the central inserts of front and rear bumpers coated in black vinyl. it'll help in the brush i guess, and make my surf look a little different from the 4 other silver ones in town. (even though i have a chrome grille and a late model hump spolier on mine)
