Pioneer AVH-4300DVD Installation

I purchased the above referenced radio, and the installer is telling me the metra kit for limited 4runners does not fit this radio. He is also telling me that the drop down screen will not work in a 4runner either.

I can't imagine that this is correct??

Does anyone have the AVH-4200 or 4300 installed in a limited 4runner?

If so which kit did you use?

When I put my Kenwood in, I had to trim the bottom of the kit because when the screen slid open it would catch on there.

edit: I used the metra kit.

IF you use the kit that just has sides that bolt to the radio (no top or bottom trim) you should be able to fit it. If you look at how deep the plastic is that's now much it sticks forward allowing room for the face to swing down.

I have the 4200 installed in non-JBL non-Nav system, but I told incorrectly told Crutchfield I had RDS when I placed the order. They sent me the Metra kit pictured below. The bezel definitely does not fit the non-Nav console.

Seems to indicate there is definitely some confusion on this point. If you want the bezel that crutchfield sent to me to try, I'll happy give it you for the cost of a USPS flat rate box. Just PM me. Crutchfield later sent me a different metra kit, the kind with a spacer on each side.

For comparison, I've included a photo of how my 4200 is currently installed (non-JBL, non-Nav, non-RDS 2006 SR5) with the side-mounted spacers. Hope this helps.

Crutchfield gave me the same trim for my radio - I broke it trying to put in the radio. Go to a local install shop and get the trim kit I posted earlier.

From what I've seen, the limited's use a different trim peice than the other models (regardless of other features). I'm interested in seeing if this fits, I'm getting ready to purchase the same unit. I never thought of the slide down making contact.

That's the same exact kit I bought. I took it to a local shop here in Austin, and they used their kit (American International, I believe) and it looks great. Not sure on the confusion with the Metra kits. all I know is the 95-8210 did not fit

i have the avh-p4000 & bought the one from crutchfield, which didnt fit, then used the side pieces, i forgot what brand, but they are most likely the same ones galactic 04 posted & fit right.

OK, so what kit is needed for the Limited with OEM GPS? Just the side pieces (metra 95-8202), what they list as the limited kit (95-8210), or something else?
