Pioneer AVIC-D1

I've searched for this but haven't found a definitive answer. Will the AVIC-D1 let you keep the steering wheel controls? It seems like it CAN, but you need to take some extra steps? I read the Eclipse AVN5435 keeps the controls w/o doing anything extra.

I have an 06 SR5 w/ the basic 6 speaker stereo, if that matters.

Does anyone have pics of the AVIC installed? Does it look clean/factory like?

Errrr......How did you get the steering wheel controls on a SR5 with the basic 6 spkr setup?

I got the leather steering wheel/shift knob. Maybe it's because of that?

Yeah, you just need this - I haven't used it myself, but I know that installation isn't exactly plug & play.

Yeah, install sucks...I used to charge about $60 just for install, because it can take quite a while to get going...but it will work after a bit of tinkering.

To use the PAC SWI-X with Pioneer AVIC-D1??? Anyone has done this before???

Does it require a Pioneer remote?

Because the Pioneer AVIC-D1 doesn't come with a remote....
