Pioneer AVIC-D3 Installation Issues

I bought a 98 4Runner a couple months ago (super stoked on it) and it came with a low end Pioneer single DIN deck. Last week I stumbled upon a Pioneer AVIC-D3 on Craigslist for a pretty smokin' deal (and not stolen!) and pulled the trigger. Now that I have it all in my hands however I seemed to have reached a dilemma.

How do I mount this thing?

I'm not worried about the wiring; that's a piece of cake. Are there factory side brackets that I'm missing as the truck came with a plastic aftermarket single DIN converter piece? I've scoured high and low and haven't been able to find a universal double DIN mounting kit for the third gen. Can someone please point me in the right direction?

the 3ed gen dont need any dash kit for the double din, but u might need the finish trim from the d3 if it needs it, all u doing it putting that bracket on the d3 and then put it back in the hole, and then it should fit fine in there.

To what bracket are you referring? OEM? Pioneer? Third party universal? My problem is the fact that I don't have any brackets and I haven't been able to locate a universal one - all I have is the deck itself.

As far as the trim goes I did a test fit and there's a tiiiiiiiiiiiny gap on the sides without any finishing trim but I'm not too worried about it; once it gets mounted I'm sure it will look fine.

So yeah, what bracket do I need?

I would suggest locating some factory side radio brackets... Dealer, junk yard, part out.

You'll both left and right side.

Thanks for the help; I just ordered the brackets ($15 for the pair) along with some OEM mudguards that match the SR5 fender flares sans running boards. I'll keep you guys posted if anything else weird pops up.
