Pioneer AVIC-N1 dvd/navigation unit?

Hi all,

I saw my local GoogGuys has a Pioneer AVIC-N1 car navigation/radio/DVD/Mp3 player and the cool thing is it has "vehicle performance monitor" that can display graphically in real-time acceleration, speed, G-force etc... It's $2000 include installation, eBay is selling it for about $1500-1600. However, I couldn't find any review on it. Anybody has any experience with this? I wonder how well it works on the 4Runner?

this is the exact same setup im planning on getting in my runner. from what ive read and heard it is the best setup yet. i went to a few local shops and checked it out. the thing is just amazing.

hey also get goodguys to match and or lower the price, i used to work there at a norcal location and they have plenty of room in the prices to bargain, and they will - trust me

wow, that thing looks cool. The price isn't that bad either considering all the features it has. I've been looking for an all-in-one unit for awhile but none of them looked to be that good and were overpriced. I already have an aftermarket headunit installed so installing this shouldn't be too hard. It looks like all you need to do is tap into the speed sensor wire to get the navigation to work. If anyone gets this installed, let us know how it works!

How well do they (GoodGuys) do their job? I would appreciate if you could share some "inside info" For example, do they use the correct electrical shop manuals for each car/truck to remove and install things or do they just go by common sense? Things like that...

well all the installers are trained before to hitting the shop floor, i do not think they use the manufacturer manuals as that would not be cost effective. but most, not all are very good at what they do. maybe ask for the most experienced tech or even ask when to come back to see other custom install jobs of thiers...
