Pioneer DVD Installed (Pics)

Took a while due to lack of time, but finaly done.

PIONEER AVH-P3100DVD. I got mine for $400, love the sound and it plays USB, DVD, CD, I-Pod, MPEG, DIVX and IPG. Has Front USB port and Aux input. Here is finished results:




And last, Video bypass. I used DAC button from Toyota (installed another one in the middle spot instead of dead plug). Then DVD Video logo finished the look. Now my front passenger can watch movies.

Very cool, how did you do the DVD video label on the button?
 
Steering wheel controls gone. I dont miss them much. SWI harness is a nightmare to install.

DVD Video label is simple: blank adress label with logo Jet printed and cut-paste to plastic button (covers DAC logo).
 
Great looking setup! I'm interested in the same configuration. Would you mind sharing some of the details? Items purchased, how the DAC/bypass works.

So far I love it. My fav is front USB port. Put your music on 512 GB USB drive and you've got instant hard drive with endless storage, no need to mess with CD's (you can play CD if you're old school :)

The DVD button had to look stock, just if Toyota had installed it there. The solution - constant on/off switch, DAC is happens to be one. $52.00 and a week later I had it in my garage. I used continuity test mode in multimiter to find my contacts (only 2 needed). Parking brake wire is long enough to run back to buttons in center console. I used another wire to run from ground (shifter bracket bolt) to my new switch. Switch has a little ridge that prevent assembly workers from fitting it in wrong slot. After filing it off it fits in any blank spot after removing dummy plug from console. Wires connected, console snapped back in place - and I've got clean looking install.

If anybody has any high resolution pictures of an aftermarket double din deck installed in a 4runner could you please post it. I am having issues with my deck sticking out some and my intallers are telling me there is nothing they can do. I know there has to be something wrong, but we can't figure out what. I know the deck is sticking out too far, but with the holes on the factory bracket we can't move it back. Did anybody have to drill new holes for on the brackets? see attached picture

Mine's the exact same way and its a Kenwood. I installed it myself too. Its aftermarket, not OEM - its not going to be exact

Maybe the installer ordered the wrong double din trim piece. I know for a fact the JBL headunits would need the trim piece for a Limited.

I was afraid of the fitment issues for double din units, so I went with the single din Kenwood instead. It's a much tighter fit, although my headunit's screen sticking out is kind of old school.

Yours even looks better than my installation. The trim won't fit from inside.

Sure thing, PICS are hard to tell but it is about 1/2" from flush with the Metra Kit.







Here is my Escort 9500i wired to the fuse box below the steering wheel. Not only do I get better reception/distance up there, NOBODY can see it form outside so theft is a non issue. I ran the wire up the a pillar and in the head liner. I put the remote in an empty space below the steering wheel.




 
More pics - the button fit perfectly in there.



And.....my useless trunk I dont bast like a gang banger all the time, but I sometimes have urges to shake car's mirrors in front of me. The massage isnt bad either!




I have not been in a car premium or not that has a better sounding Stereo than mine. The staging is perfect and I truly can notice a difference. I have the remote Bass knob in the 12v compartment so its out of the way.

Thanks for all the replies...I am just surprised there isn't a better kit...Has anybody tried to Meta 95-8210 to see if that works? it is the kit for the JBL systems...Are the dashes different from the JBL to NON JBL?

Just wondering if you have anything to follow up with? I am thinking of going with the 4100 and would like to know how the ipod controls are as well as the resolution and how the back up camera works? If you can comment on any of these things or anything else you like or dont like that you can think of, it would be great. Looks good!

Also if anyone wants to comment about back up cameras, I am looking to hear some feedback. Should I just go with the brand that matches the head unit, or is there one that is better than the rest? Thanks
