any body here have the double din navigation from pioneer AVIC-D1.

I was just looking at the same unit thinking that since its double-din and has separate dvd and cd slots and can handle separate iPod interface it would be perfect. $1200 on ebay isn't that bad either.

But it doesn't play DVD's, does it?

Did some checking and you are correct. Don't know how much I'd really use that feature but does seem odd Pioneer would put in a DVD player for the NAV but not open it up to movie dvd's. Spec sheet says an external player is needed.

Don't buy the pioneer its cheap.. Look at getting one the AVN's from Eclipse. Kenwood also has two better units DDX7017 or the flagship DD DDX8017. The Kenwoods you buy the add-on Nav system. If your looking for something all around then look at the Eclipse AVN5435 or the AVN5495.
