Pistol Holster Mod (Springfield XD Firearms)

Opened the center console and pulled out the divider. Mounted the stock Springfield XD holster over divider.(The free holster that comes with all XD guns)

Surprisingly it is a snug fit and no drilling is required. I just relocated the divider to the center of console. Now I have a nice place to store my firearm within reaching distance. Just thought I would share. Pics below.

Looks good. I love the idea and will try with a different paddle holster. I've been debating where to mount a pistol, but this is a perfect spot. thanks for the pics. Got the XD, but this might give me be more reason to upgrade to XDM, lol...
 
nice job dude, my plan is to get an XDM soon and i have been debating on where i want to put it for long trips and going out to the ranch and such. Ill have to see if something similar works for my 3rd gen...

There was one time I wished I carried. I hit a deer with my VW about 18 months ago. The nose of the car dove as I mashed the brakes, basically cut the legs off the deer at the knees. It was thrashing about trying to walk but couldn't with 4 broken legs. I called the cops to come put it down. I couldn't stand watching it struggle. :nono:
 
I always carry especially when I go out to my farm. It is just a good place to store a firearm. Never know when you will see a coyote or need to protect yourself with it.
 
Here in MI, we can carry completely concealed in the car. However, when I drive through OH, I have to have it visible. So, I wanted to mod a paddle to go in the slot next to the shifter. Anyone do that?

Its for a real gun though, Kahr PM9. :p

I was also thinking it would be nice to have a cross draw-type set up located in the small cavity below the door handle. I'm not getting out of the car without grabbing it, and as long as its secure, I don't have any issues with it. As it sits right now, I am not always in a good position to draw while seated.

I also find it very intresting how some of the States work . I assume everytime you get out of the vehicle you take your gun with you . Can it be concealed on you or does it have to show. I can't imagine having one on me at all time I would be tempted to use it on a daily basis just on stupid drivers :lasercannon: . It must for sure make people act different in public ie..people must think twice before flipping some one the bird or yelling stuff at someone in a road rage or similar event. What do you yanks think ? Does it prevent certain kinds of crime etc.... i think it may . Someone once told me there was a little town or city in Texas or somewhere where it was against the law to NOT carry a side arm some time ago. If so that is very intresting stuff.

I carry mine anywhere I go. Anywhere that I can legally carry it. There are a few exceptions like schools, hospitals, religious centers, entertainment facilities that hold greater than 2500 people and bars.

Love the XDs!! I have a XD45c and XD45tac. The guys over at XDTalk.com must love this if you posted it. I would love to do that same mount but I am now in the Communist State of NJ and can no longer CC or have a uncased loaded or really a firearm PERIOD with out the proper papers. UGH!

Everyone lives in a place where they should carry one (legally). Everyone has the right to protect themselves no matter where they are.

Nobody has to carry a gun because its a choice... just like it is to be a victim!
