Pittsburgh looking for PA/MD/OH meetup?

Whats up everybody!

Dave here from Pittsburgh. About 18 months ago I got myself a CPO 2006 4Runner Sport 4x4 V6.

I love this thing! Towed a few times with it, hauled a ton of cargo with the seats down etc.

However, after reading, I realize that I can be doing SO much more with it. What I'd love to do is meetup with more experienced 4x4ers and take my truck off the beaten path.

It's all stock and I have no experience, so I'd like to take it easy!

The thing is I don't know anybody around here who wheels. Love to start a meetup!

I do realize its a 2 month old thread but I would love to take my rig a bit off-roading as well. I'm in the DC area and can drive up to Pittsburgh for some fun.

We are still thinking about going out to VA next month...although...my turbo exploded yesterday...so I dunno if I'll be up and 4runnin' by then...

So, did anything concrete happen here? It would be awesome if some of the newbies (including myself) to off-roading get some tips from the more experienced bunch about hitting the trails and how to get it done.

I'm a graduate student in Carnegie Mellon. I just got my 08 4runner Sport 2 weeks ago. Any off road activities in Pitts area?

There's also the MAOF in August. Did some light 'wheeling' in Bald Eagle State Forest while attending that last year.

Locally there's an off road group that has a nice park. Its a little bit more than I want to take my stock truck on right now but hopefully in a year I'll get back out there.
